For some reason, this one hurts a lot...

A kick to the gut. I don't have big expectations for this team on the road, and I wasn't necessarily expecting a win tonight--though I thought it was possible.

But for whatever reason, this one really, really, really, really hurts. Dear Lord, what's become of this team??!!

yes it does. I expected better. But then, I guess I always expect better. I feel like someone caught in a rip tide. I can swim as hard as I want to. But it doesn't matter. Because the rip tide is in control of me. The "blue out" guys, at least, feel like they have a say. They don't though. The lnly one that has a say is Bohn. And even Bohn is at the mercy of finances.

After last week there seemed to be a feeble glimmer of hope. We just keep getting teased with possibilities that go nowhere

The silver lining of course is that this should be the nail in the coffin for Hawkins.

It did? Really?

It played out about like I expected.

I think that's why it hurt. I had low expectations, they were met, but not exceeded. But at the end of the day, each and every loss hurts. This one hurts more, because I expect so little, and get exactly that.

I'm feeling sick to my stomach. I think because it's so depressing how far we've fallen. We are the worst program in the Big 12. And by a pretty wide margin, too.

This hurts because it ends any chance of a bowl or winning season but it was expected. The kick in the gut is, CU should have won this game easily.

FOUR 1st and goal drives and you get 3 points? How is that effing possible? If cu scores 1 td and kicks 3 fg's they win let alone executing and scoring 4 td's and winning it easily.

Pretty much sums up the four years here under hawk.

Isn't he the one who gave him the extension?

I'd like to say the loss hurts, but I think I've become numb to this s**t. Heck, I even fell asleep during part of the 3rd quarter.

I'm waiting until the season is over before making any final decisions, but at the moment, I'm thinking that if Hawk isn't gone, I'm done with my season tickets. It's just not fun any more. Hawk has managed to do what no other coach in my 30 odd years of being a fan of CU, which is to kill my passion. I cannot wait for this nightmare to end. Less than 2 weeks and it'll all be over.

This one hurt because any hope for a Cinderella story vanished.

Unfortunately the loses stopped feeling like a kick to the nuts a while ago. Do they still hurt, yes. Just not the same anymore. What will feel like a kick in the nuts will be if Dan Hawkins is not fired the day after the Nibblet game. That will be like a one two to the old nut sack. It is time to turn the page and start laying the groundwork with he next coach to get this team back to respectibility

:yeahthat:

I'm surprised people are so hurt over this loss..

A long time ago (in a land far away) I attended a football game. 1979, I think. Got tickets through base and a bunch traveled up to LA for the game. Not a huge crowd, and pretty laid back - kinda the stereotype-fitting experience you'd expect at a fucla game. Kicker is, the opponent was CU.

At halftime, the score was bad guys 56, Buffs 0. One suntan lotioned, beach bum sitting behind us opined (to a friend), "At this rate, it'll end up 112-0". I was surprised that he could actually do the math. I was equally surprised that I pretty much agreed with him. We were outclassed, the coaches were clueless, and about the only thing going right was that it appeared that the players were still trying. They just couldn't get it done.

Looking back, there's more talent (much more) on this year's roster than that team I watched long ago. But something is wrong. And someone needs to figure it out and get it corrected - real quick.

I really feel bad for the players. Past, current, and future. They're playing on a team that has no identity....no personality. Is it the staff? I dunno. Whatever it is, it needs to change.

Bleeding gold -n- black, but shaking my head............

Feel the same way.

Not the way these seniors expected their last year to go, is it?

I thought I'd share these comments from several anonymous posters on another board:

  • thankfully this season is almost over.
hopefully, i will never have to witness this
    atrocious display of football again.
frustration, disappointment, exhaustion and anger are all i feel now. sorry, i just can't help it.

  • Been waiting for some improvement for two years. I think people could live with not going 10-3 if only we could at least get better a bit at a time so that we could feel secure in believing that we were ultimately sure to become a very good team.

  • How long will it take to realize that this experiment has failed?

  • Poor, Poor, Poor coaching. The team is not prepared. They are lacking some talent, but overall, it comes down to coaching. Very disappointing.

  • In the famous words of Led Zeppelin The song remains the same, nothing gets better we have watched the same game for four weeks now. It's tough to see the light at the end of the tunnel when the roof is caving in.

  • Right now...we simply suck - period...offensively and defensively....

Sound familiar?
:smile2: It's from the Michigan board (they just lost to Wisconsin 45-24. 4th loss in a row.) I love going there when I'm feeling bad about my buffs, it always makes me cheer up. Get this: they are all blue about losing 4 games in a row, but this season they have WON 5, and lost 6. Imagine how happy we'd be if we had those stats.

Dangit. Now I'm depressed again.

There needs to be a shakeup on the offensive line - Denver Johnson is doing a terrible job...Rodney Stewart had no holes to run through today, and on nearly every passing play Tyler Hansen was scrambling for his life...also the complete lack of discipline that Bryce Givens showed when he started barking at the ref after getting flagged (and then drawing another flag which put us into 1st and goal from the 39...), is ridiculous...a good coach would make sure his players keep their cool because that additional 15 yard penalty was huge and without it, it might've been a completely different ballgame...

When life's getting me down I go to the store and pick up a gossip magazine (People or US, I forget which one has the letters) and read the Mailbag.

Whew, does that make me feel better about my life. I'm serious about this. Actually, I should make a trip sometime soon.

Dear Editor,

I take tremendous offense to your remarks about (insert celebrity's name). He/she is a wonderful person who has shown so much class. You should leave him/her alone as he/she goes through this difficult time. (Celebrity's name) is a source of inspiration to me when my life is difficult.

Signed,

Some person in Missouri.

I love that stuff!

The way this coaching staff has squandered talent is criminal. Now with that being said...Givens should be running his ass off for next few days...At least he is showing a little emotion. Someone hire a moving truck.
