Does he survive the carnage?

He's not on the football staff, but he works a lot with the football team.

Thoughts?

My sources say he's not a player favorite and some feel his "old school" methods lead them toward knee injuries.

If that's the case, I would hope they bring in someone more versed in current weight training.

Clean house, fresh slate, yes.

My guess would be - a new coach is going to want to bring in his own guys.

I suspect Bohn will give the new coach the opportunity to bring in all of his own people, if he wants to.

Should we keep him because we have been so physically dominant since he has been here?
:lol::wow::rolleyes::cry::thumbsup:

No way Pittman survives a change. I recall a video of our guys lifting that circulated on the web and all the powerlifting experts that looked at it were going nuts about the bad form and how it would cause knee injuries. (That was before the rash of knee injuries last season.)

He should be gone....clean house....start over, and get it right.....put all the right people in place that understand what it takes to win and compete at this level...

Pittman teaches ****ty cleans and squats. That puts too much pressure on the knees.

Injuries are a part of weight lifting. I have a pulled trapezius muscle right now from military press and pullups. It happens. Shoulder and upper back injuries are common.

Knee problems, however, show a lack of technique.

He teaches Olympic style lifts with **** form and technique, these are football players, not Olympic lifters....in that youtube video never showed any kind of speed and strength training...

this is HORRIBLE technique for knees.:ahhhhh:

oh, just my opinion... but I winced when I watched it!

I don't know anything about lifting, but to my amateur eye, that technique looks PAINFUL. Tossing your knees out to the side... seems like you'd place a lot of stress right on the knees, as the entire weight is moved down the middle of your body

Doc Kreis.

He did not suck.

And is a total asshole. Of course, I don't have to deal with him anymore, so I guess he can be as big of an asshole as he wants to be.

seriously though, the guy is an asshole. I can't remember ever meeting somebody more thoroughly impressed with himself.

My god, get Pit out of here! He's up there with Riddle's special teams work on the theses I nailed to the Dal Ward door.

And this relates to his success as an SC coach how???

It doesn't. He's still an asshole. I just don't personally like the guy. But like I said, I don't have to deal with him anymore, so it really doesn't matter to me.

For what it's worth, GB didn't like his techniques. He felt they led to too many injuries.

I think hes still at UCLA.

What I have seen of our big guys getting pushed all over the field, especially on the OL, makes me think he will be one of the first out the door...

No. This guy is a perfect example of the Dan Hawkins regime. All talk, no results. Yes, all the players looked bigger after an off-season with Pitt, but they don't play like they are stronger and better conditioned than the other team.

Pittman stood up at the recruiting luncheon last February and said that we were going to road grade people this year. What a joke!

I'll play a little Devil's Advocate here and mention Will Pericak. No way is Pericak playing DT without a ton of work with Pittman.

I don't think it's Pittmans fault that the O-line is playing poorly. I think that falls on Denver Johnson.

Pittman is all about increasing weightlifting numbers but he is doing little to build agility and explosiveness in the players.

No impressed with him. He is definitely gone if Hawkins leaves because Hawkins brought him in from Boise.
