FootballCoachScoop.com: Bohn to talk to Bieniemy and Bates at USC

Sources close to the situation tell us that AD Mike Bohn is planning on speaking with Eric Bieniemy (former CU player and current Minnesota Vikings
Running Backs coach) and Jeremy Bates (USC Offensive Coordinator) who previously worked as OC for Denver Broncos.

EB!!!!!

If hired though (probably a longshot) would EB leave the Vikings in the middle of the season to start recruiting?

What is Bienemy going to do for this program besides the name? If we pick up EB as HC we will need some damn good assistants which is the problem at CU given that we cannot offer long term assistant contracts.

Is Bienemy ready to jump from position coach to head coach?

I have the same issue with Embree. I'd prefer to get somebody who's been a coordinator at some point.

I would love to have the fire and passion that EB brings back on the sidelines at CU, though. We've missed that for a long time.

My question is, are these interviews or are they casual "would you be interested in interveiwing" type of conversations?

 well that website sure knows how to make us happy.

That EB rumor is BS btw, a random poster at buffscoop sent them an email saying EB was being discussed and BAM, update on the site.

Probably that, which means they plan to have an interim coach named when/if they fire Hawkins. Either Cabral or Simmons, most likely.

Bohn has to gauge the interest from his potential candidates to narrow down the list at least.

FootballCoachScoop.com never confirmed it.. Just stated sources tell them, blah, blah.

Compare that to the Shanahan rumor.

FootballCoachScoop sources confirm that AD Mike Bohn met with Mike Shanahan, former Denver Broncos Head Coach, today to discuss future
possibilities with the Colorado Football Program.

As far as the EB thing s goes, 'sources close to the situation' consist of a poster at another message board trying to find out how closely that site checks out their sources. They don't.

NOW THAT'S PISSING ON YOUR PARADE!

How is it pissing on my parade? They never confirmed anything..

I love EB but even I admit its a longshot for him to be head coach..

He will bring passion, intensity and recruiting to the program..

All 3 are lacking under Talkins..

As well as an incredibly stubborn and difficult personality. He's absolutely an upgrade for where we are now but there will be some extra baggage. The administrative hurdle for him is probably slightly higher than it would be for other candidates.

As others have pointed out It also begs the question of wether or not he can "pull it all together" and be the HC. Are we in a position to be able to take that risk?

Again, where were at, he would be an improvement.

Just doing my part to be BB's devils advocate.

I was referring more to the accuracy of the site as a whole.

I'd love to have EB as a coordinator and for his recruiting.

I figure that footballcoachscoop is pretty much just peddling the same **** we peddle here on AB... hell they probably get the rumors from Allbuffs

Makes for interesting Monday conversation however!

So, Hawk is let go on Sat. Kyle Shanahan hired as HC, Mike Shanahan as OC and Associate HC, Eric Bienimy as RB coach and Associate OC under Shanahan--- maybe Embree as DC?

Get Alex Gibbs as OL coach. I would love that!!!

Miller would like it More. This line is light and perfect for Gibbs and Shanny. Would really love to see what they could do with real coaching.

I'm not nuts about EB as a head coach yet, but would love to see him back at CU. Maybe he could be brought back in a role similar to Cabral - position coach (RB) and Associate Head Coach.

I can't see Kyle wanting to hire Gibbs as OL coach, he'll want some of "his" guys that he can build the program with once Papa Shanny were to move on.

I also can't see why Bieniemy would take a RB coach position at CU. I'm sure he makes alot more in the NFL and has a longer term contract than 1 year, also has much more upward mobility there. If he didn't come in as OC, I don't see why he would come back to CU.

Embree, I'm not so sure about. He has usually been on the offensive side of the ball, so not sure about D.C. That hire would have to be absolutely essential with the Shanny's focusing on the offense.
