John Mobleys' nephew I believe. We should get a visit this Fall from him... but we're gonna have to pass the Fuskers to be his #1

We're right there in the mix. I don't trust the source as far as kNU being his number one. Pretty sure that came from Husker Illustrated, which let's just say has a history of putting a corn slant into their "reporting". Plus, I think they're looking at him as a DE so who knows if that will fly. Mobley could be a heck of a weapon as a field-stretching TE.

Re: '10 CA TE Harold Mobley

Unfortunately, it came from his mouth in an interview on one of the pay sites.... I don't remember the details nor would I post them here, but the source was more credible than Fusker Illustrated.

Re: '10 CA TE Harold Mobley

His Uncle, who is overseeing his recruitment. That is where the quote came from. Pretty much said that a commitment to NU could come if not on his visit, then shortly thereafter.

Re: '10 CA TE Harold Mobley

In a Scout update, he favors Nebraska, but says he plans an official visit to Colorado.

Re: '10 CA TE Harold Mobley

From the Scout interview, it sounds like Nebraska's a clear number 1. I'd put Oregon at #2 and CU in the second tier. It's still early, though.

Re: '10 CA TE Harold Mobley

He just scheduled his Nebraska visit (Oklahoma game on 11/16) and they're his clear number one. He did say that he'll take 1 or 2 visits before that and Colorado should be one of them. The one glimmer of hope is that NU wants him as a DE and he would prefer to play offense. CU likes him as a TE.

Re: '10 CA TE Harold Mobley

In a new Rivals interview Mobley said that we're definitely recruiting him as a TE, he has a good chance for playing time as a true freshman, he enjoyed his visit a lot more than he expected, and he'll be checking out Nebraska next. Very good article that mentions his teammate, Tyler Slavin, who also visited over the weekend.

Re: '10 CA TE Harold Mobley

You guys have a great shot here. His ship may have sailed with NU after this weekends commits. Good player.

That's funny, because when I read Mobley's comments about his visit to Nebraska it sounded like he was a Corn lock unless UCLA stepped up hard and fast. You just never know.

He loved the visit but it appears we may be out of room based on who we are still in on and holding 'ships for.

Re: '10 CA TE Harold Mobley

It sounds like Mobley and Slavin like us and NU the most. If NU can't take them, then they are ours to lose. Great news because I really want these two. I have a good feeling about them.

Re: '10 CA TE Harold Mobley

I just updated the Big 12 Commitment Tracker thread. Nebraska took its 3rd DE verbal over the weekend, with 5 total D-Linemen now. I believe EvilBeak is right and unless one or more of these guys falls out, it's doubtful Mobley is going to be a ****er (they're recruiting him as a DE).

Mobley is still a possibility at 2 positions. TE if a JUCO guy doesn't come and DE if the kid from Oregon doesn't come..1st and last name begin with Os and have lots of consonants. Big Time Player. Knows Suh.

Mobley will be good where ever he ends up.

TE Chase Harper (JUCO), TX just verbaled the Corn.

Mobley sure would look good in black and gold.

From BuffStampede article dated May 27, 2009:

Oh. Bad assumption on my part, John being from Philadelphia and this kid from California. John's brother Phil is a friend of mine and he didn't mention it when I saw him last week, but then again, why would he.

Two of John's brothers still live in Denver. Maybe that would be of some help in recruiting Harold.

New Scout Article

Riddle's been recruiting him hard and has kept us in it by working the phones and making the only in-home visit Mobley has had. But Mobley says he is 65-70% Nebraska and has been close to committing a couple times. Family pressure is split (uncle likes NU, sisters like CU). Looks like it's going to be the Corn. Wildcard in all this is UCLA. That seems to be where he would really want to go, but they haven't offered.

I don't understand this guy(Mobley). The ONLY way he goes to NU is if NU has other decommits or we Greyshirt a few(like maybe him).

We took our TE in Harper, We have 3 DE for this class and he is way down the list for WR(if he could even play there).

On the other hand, he seems too good for other teams to not be all over him.
