We just don't have any like this right now and that's a shame. They're part of the heart and soul of the Buffs

But now we have Cody Hawkins and Scotty McKnight. No offense to those 2, but it clearly is not the same caliber athlete

F PSU...

and we were the second best team that year by far.....

should have been the best but we ran the ball and screwed the pooch in Lincoln....

Yes but we were contenders and thats what I miss. I dont even look at the polls anymore.

I miss:

Winning
Bowl games
Studs

Meh. Your a homer. :smile2:

That NU defense was incredible. They had a spy blitzing on Rashaan the entire game and we never could counter it. I think Neu had the right call when he suggested to Mac they scrap the double TE and come out in the Shotgun with 3 or 4 WR, catch NU D off gaurd, and try and score fast then hunker down for the win. We played that double TE set all year and NU game planned it perfectly. I think Rashaan got less than 100yds that game. If memory serves Mac admitted later on he should have made a better gameplan.

Anyway, their offense destroyed us with ball control. I think they ran the ball so much that the first half was over in 50 minutes. By the end of the game I had nothing but hate in my heart for NU and Dr. Tom. They f'n owned us in that game and I concluded that life was just not f uck'n fair. :dbt: Anyway...

I do agree that we had probably the best or 2nd best CU team evar that year and certainly a top 5 nationally team. But trying to run it down the throat against the number 1 defense in the country was not so smart.

from my biased eyes... I meant we were the second best team in 1994 ahead of PSU (no one in Pennsylvania can put together an argument that convinces me otherwise)....

You were still on the sidelines that season? I thought you were an 88-91 guy....

I think Rashaan got less than 100yds that game.

Rashaan had 22-134 w/ a TD. Total offense 345-314 NU. The problems were that CU did not convert a 3rd or 4th down all game, and the NU punter had the field on a tilt all day.

Where the hell did that poll come from? CU finished #3, not #6.

That is prior to the bowl games....

Nebraska played in the Kickoff classic that year in East Rutherford NJ.

I was at that game in full colorado gear talking smack about how we were coming to Lincoln....

Me thinks they found me at PO Pears that year.

you guys make me long for the real buff football i remember and love. i cant believe what has become of us. My question is this.

Is there anything or anyone that can be brought in to turn this thing around? i mean will we ever get back to the era of the 90's early 00 of quality teams? or are we doomed?

Oh yeah, we *will* get it back. It's just going to not be as quick as we would like it... But, we will be back on top again.

They certainly should bring me back as a fan..... That would help!

Nope. 91 to 94. I did not make the trip to Lincoln for that game. I did go to the Michigan game and Texas. The deadline for the NU game closed earlier than I expected so no credential for that one. The weather sucked as I recalled anyways.

The weather was actually nice at the '94 NU game.

Thanks for the correction on that. My memories of it were uglier than the yardage suggests.

Oh I was handcuffed to the bench at the end of the Michigan game... the police called it trespassing.... i called it celebrating.... it cost me $100 for my definition of it...

and Leash was right... 94 was beautiful... 92 was a mess... 96 was not as bad as 92... but still raining.

Did the guy next to you punch you right after that picture?:smile2:

the guys on both sides of me are brothers... and the one on white has punched me numerous times... usually after he has been drinking...

I seem to remember Kordell getting chased alot that day. They were blitzing him pretty hard, he was getting happy feet, and his throwing mechanics were all over the place.

Very much so, Kordell was 12-28-0-150. Alot of those incompletions were on 3rd and 4th down. Not being able to stop the throw to the NE TE all day hurt also.
