Fowler on Buyout

Just said that raising the buyout money was "not a problem"... slip of the tongue methinks?

I wonder if guys like Fowler can donate to the CU Fund since it's not the AD and a conflict of interest. He may know something. I'd heard he's a significant donor and he gives to the school of journalism.

Regardless of popular opinion, he bleeds black and gold, I'd be surprised if he didn't know something.

He kind of stuttered through it like he realized he was saying too much and then quickly changed the subject.

If you guys can't come up with a couple mil to get a coach then you don't take your football seriously enough.

Jesse Palmer:

I don't think people realize the difficulty that exists to win in a place like Colorado.

WTF?

Sounds like he spent too much time talking to Hawk about "excuses".

ISU called. They want CU to keep their coach so they can get an easy win for a bowl every year.

Yeah what a tool.. Now I guess its easy to win at Cincy, Stanford, Oregon State, TCU, Kansas, etc.

He just said it again as they were signing off..."...the money is there to buy him out" was basically what he said...

You have 15 less scholies to work with now than mac did. You have higher than average enrollment standards and less fertile recruiting grounds. You have less total practice time and harder classes and standards for student athletes. And an administration that puts academics above all else.

The 1990s are very far in the rear view mirror.

Hawkins does not even use all of his available scholarships.

I actually believe the scholly limits help CU. OU, Texas and other teams can not load up like they use to. CU has to get back into texas big time.

I do too. And Im glad I lived it from 90 to 94. But after the embarrassment the scandal caused the only way for management to control the situation is limit who gets in and who doesnt. I think we can find a coach more adept at winning 5 to 6 game or more for year but Im doubtful we'll ever see 10 win seasons on a regular basis again.

i am glad i lived it too. i however was in highschool in omaha getting **** every day for being a die hard buff and didnt realize how great we were and how much i would long for 9 10 win seasons.

With the right guy we could be a lot better with what we have, what we can get. The reduction certainly exposes more clearly who can coach and who cant cause you've got to make the talent you get develop or your hosed. I think the admissions window is a big problem.

roll your eyes all you want. What has he done for CU? What? When? Where? Just want to know.

What has westbrook, salaam, stewart, and other alums done? Fowler gives back to cu I'm pretty sure. He wants cu to win, if he would have said they should keep hawk you would have said what a great alum he is.
