The high risk defense is a killer...

Yes from time to time you get a sack but when the other team picks it up the big play is there. That is coaching. We don't make the other team work for their points.

No doubt. We don't have enough speed for cover 0. That play reminded me of Toledo, Missouri, etc,etc....We need the offense to get some first downs in the second half though or maybe even some points(?), so the defense can get some rest.

Gave it to them. No excuses for that playcall. Jalil was playing lights out at CB and for some reason we blitz him? SOB, make them earn it.

Yeah, what a joke that was.. Frickin Collins can put together one good half of defense, he cand hardly ever put 2 together in the same game..

I'm a big fan of blitzing a linebacker or two. If you're not going to bring some heat, you may as well just run a 4-3. What I do not get blitzing a corner 5 times a game. Our coverage is shaky enough at times. Why put your backfield down a man? Isn't it a little obvious when the corner starts creeping way inside that he's coming?

Definitely rates a :wtf:

Jalil was so far off of the line that he didn't even get close to the QB after the ball was snapped. At least we blitzed a corner other than Cha'pelle. Ugh.

With Burney and Polk and Perkins at safety a good safety blitz would be a nice call. Our CBs were playing their man great all night, except for that play and the long TD. Gashers.

Yeah, at least disguise the corner blitz or audible out of it when the offense sees it coming.

And blitzing the LB's without dropping a DE or someone to cover the RB is freaking playground BS!

This loss is squarely on Hawkins, Collins, Riddle, and Johnson. Big surprise, time to pack your bags fellas.

OSU was blitzing us all night too, but they were keeping us underneath them for the most part.

I love the blitz packages we have been throwing this year. If one thing has been dramatically improved from last year. (one thing at least. ha. =/ ) is the Pass Rush . I can't open the seasons defense stats because my mac doesn't support the file .... However if any of you pc users can look it up I am willing to be we have tripled the amount of sacks this year

Seems to me it doesn't matter whether we rush 3 or 6, we seem to get "gashed" for big plays either way.

This just ****ing sucks major donkey dick.

Up to this time it has most frequently been the pass. But last night "Keith Toastedusgood" with the running game

Ive been saying this all year, u cant run zero with these guys. I dont know why the hell they keep doing it.

You are right and we tip our blitzes way too early. We play spread teams and tip our blitz before they even look to the sideline and still blitz from the same position? Im sorry but thats hs bull****. If Hawk keeps his job, im gonna ****ing puke. If he does, they better clean house on the assistants.

You could use some coaching. Your posts are really lacking. Kind of one dimensional. The other posters can see it coming from a mile away.

about 2 outta every 3 plays on both sides of the ball, I know what we are gonna do and can call the play out. truth is, that isnt a bad thing if you can execute. we cant, we havent and never will with this staff. hawk needs to quit being so ****ing stubborn and adjust. that I havent seen yet.

I love to see aggressive defense, but what we run is borderline stupid. Cover zero.. is that even used by any defensive coach with a brain? It's not like it was even working, I don't recall getting a single sack all night, pathetic.

Stupid penalities!

Lesson 1, if you go to the QB's head your going to get a flag

Lesson 2, when the ball has hit the ground don't wait 3 seconds and decide to hit the wide out.

These are very easy calls that will be called 100 percent of the time.

You guys need to stop blaming everything on the coaches. The coaches have made some royal ****-ups, but this defense is very good considering the circumstances. Bunch of newcomers, two leading tacklers out due to injury, inept offense. But none of that matters if you can find some way to bitch about the coaching. I havent seen one person post on how good these guys are at getting turnovers. Its always the other team giving it to them. I've got news for you guys - its not an accident that these guys make turnovers happen. If our DBs could catch the ball, our t.o. margin would be off the charts. (of course, if they could catch they would probably be on O). With the exeption of awful, awful O line play, and special teams, the rest of this team is capable of competing with anyone.

lets see here...

Colorado allowed 232 rushing yds/ 4.73 yds per rush
and the 3rd stringer passed for 168 yds in 2 qtrs
real good ....

That third string QB would probably be the starter here. The kid has a gun, and he can throw on the run.

I'm pretty sure DBT could've completed that pass to Toston over the middle. The rollout to his right to the WR in the back of the end zone was nice, though.

My son is 6 and could have completed that one. Their schemes could get them by in Boise, not here. After 4 years and they cant figure that out, see ya. Absolutely nobody accounted for Tostin and that is bad coaching folks. There is no way to sugarcoat that, I mean he was the guy that was killing us. That just shows me how desperate we are, they know if one thing goes wrong its six. We still continue to do it, 50 plays over 20 yards this year, scoreboard.

Not with our safeties. No way. Collins and Hawk = 2 peas in a pod in that respect. Don't take their personnel into account when game planning.
