What would be the advantage not to ??

Why not give him the axe and have Cabral coach against the corn.

I doubt they will name an interim coach for the NEB game.. They can still fire him friday and let him coach next Friday..

Tenn allowed Fulmer to finish out the season..

I don't think Hawkins has lost the team, so there is no need to fire him with only one game to go. Might as well wait until after the game. I wish they would now for my sanity though.

Hawkins hasn't lost the team yet so he should stay on and coach. I kept thinking how sad it is that it takes all the talk and turmoil surrounding your HC before the team really gets fired up and plays well as they did last night. I fully expect the game next week to be a barnburner.

Plays well? They should have won that game by a ton and still find a way to lose. That seems to be a repeatitive thing around here. That is the biggest reason there needs to be a change, these guys have a losing mentality and thats not good.

A lot to be said for both ways...... firing Hawkins now would make me feel a lot better... but has not lost the team confidence too badly. So might be better to let him coach vs NU just because we will probably have a better performance. Either way they need to get rid of Hawk as soon as possible after the NU game to get a new coach in place so the recruiting is not killed by the change

Bohn has left to join the basketball team at the Maui Invitational, so nothing is going to be done until he comes back for the NU game. We would all be b*tching up a storm if our AD fired out football coach & then flew off for a week - leaving us in limbo. It's best to just let the kids play with the coach on Friday for one final time & then take care of business afterwards.

Go Buffs! Beat the Fuskers!

Did Bohn and the team already leave for Maui? Because it doesn't start until Monday.

Very troo. Not sure what's gonna happen to the hawk, but whatever "it" is, it'll take place after Nov. 27th.

I'm pretty sure the team was leaving today & I think today's DP states Bohn was heading over with them. Obviously, with fall break next week (therefore, no missed classes), they were going to head over as soon as possible to adjust to the time difference & enjoy some time in Hawaii.

Would the team have any emotional incentive to win one for the Gipper? If they need THAT to stoke their fires rather than merely playing for a win, then I'd question those players' worthiness completely.

At the same time, it'd be great to beat the nubs.

Ironically, I think we have a better chance to beat Nebraska next week with Hawk at the helm. Now if we had our cusotmary two weeks off to prepare, I'd say put on the blindfold, light the cigarette, and pull the trigger.

if I were Bohn, and needed a place to quietly meet face to face with a new HC candidate away from both campuses, and wanted to give that new HC candidate a good impression of the school's resources...would I fly him to HI and buy him a mai tai?

I have no info but it seems a reasonable course of action. Any one got eyes on Bohn this week in the islands?

I think it is a big mistake to not make the announcement now. Hawk could still coach the last game with the team rallying around him. However, if CU gets embarassed on its home field by Nebraska and the fans don't know whether Hawk is still going to be around, it could get REALLY ugly in Folsom.

Bohn is going to Hawaii to watch the men's b-ball team.

Fire him now but let him coach against the corn, I remember back in '89 when CU fired their basketball coach and the team made it to the finals of the Big 8 tournament with him at the helm.
