FootballCoachScoop.com: Announcement is coming on Talkins being fired/buyout.

Colorado:
Again, FootballCoachScoop has BREAKING NEWS and the FIRST TO REPORT that Head Coach Dan Hawkins announcement on being fired and a buyout
has been agreed upon by all parties will be announced, according to our source. On September 24, FootballCoachScoop had BREAKING NEWS and the
FIRST TO REPORT that Head Coach Dan Hawkins would not be back next season and would be bought out of his contract. On November 14,
FootballCoachScoop confirmed a buyout had been approved by the appropriate people in the University and that a formal announcement was being
planned after several meetings that took place last week

Nothing new.

Re: FootballCoachScoop.com: Announcement is coming on Talkins being fired/buyout.

If true not a surprise.

If speculation, not much of a gamble since everything points to it.

When officially announced:woot::congrats::five:

If not true, complete dissapointment:cry:

Re: FootballCoachScoop.com: Announcement is coming on Talkins being fired/buyout.

I'm pretty sure they are incorrect. I have to believe what was in the post about nothing being announced this week.

Re: FootballCoachScoop.com: Announcement is coming on Talkins being fired/buyout.

Ho hum. Wake me when its over.

On September 24th? Nailed it.
Based on recent history, I'm expecting the announcement to come after the 2010 spring game.

If the review is complete before then, it's just gravy.:afraid:

Re: FootballCoachScoop.com: Announcement is coming on Talkins being fired/buyout.

Fair enough. Now it's time to focus on Nowledge U. and send them backpedaling into the championship game.

GO BUFFS!!!

We could just do it here. Just add a forum called "CU Rumors, Lies and Disinformation".

I'd enjoy starting every thread with, "YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST", and then go on make something up that's somewhat plausible.

Re: FootballCoachScoop.com: Announcement is coming on Talkins being fired/buyout.

Announcement is coming..... when?

In 2010?

Breaking news and first to report on Nov 23, 2009 a post on Allbuffs, from a person without sources says Hawkins will be fired on Monday Nov 30th 2009. The day after the senior banquet. ( same person states same thing in a tread a week earlier.)

Excuses versus the facts...

Listening to Hawkins yesterday made me reflect on what they are trying to sell us versus reality. We heard the team was/is young, need more time, etc. But the reality is that coming into this year many fans thought that CU would win be in the hunt for 8 wins and with a little luck maybe 9. They had an relatively attractive schedule.

I picked them to win 6 because I expected them to be inconsistent as they have been in the past. Now we are looking at a maximum of 4 wins with 3 a real possibility.

Losses to CSU, Toledo, KSU, ISU, Missouri, should not of happened. OSU was a very winnable game.

Do any of those teams other than Missouri have more pieces in place than CU.

CSU - 2nd year coach taking over a program that was not recruiting well.
Toledo - 1st year coach
KSU - very experienced 1st year coach.
ISU - 1st year coach.

This team has not lost games because they are inexperienced, they have lost because they are not fundamentally sound, focus on the game for only one or two quarters on game day, etc. Most of that you can lay on the coaching.

Look at the penalties. How many times are we going to have a delay of game to open a half.

They need to knock off the excuses. If this team would play sound fundamental football for 4 quarters and they lost maybe I could buy some of what they are trying to sell me.

@ White Rabbit -

lay off the weed - no reason to be paranoid...

it's a funny blog.

well, his CU stuff is funny. Some of the other stuff I don't understand.

He answered every question with the "inexperienced" and "youth" excuse. Armstrong was aiding him by going back to his first recruiting class and dan started with more excuses. He kept saying 1-2 plays in each game would have changed the outcome. Really dan? You were never in those games with toledo and missouri and as you pointed out black and gold, they never played sound football for 4 quarters.

He never just cuts the BS and says anything that's not glass half full, remember it's in his DNA

Re: Excuses versus the facts...

CSU should have put away the game when we played them. We thought it was because we were shutting them out in the 2nd half. Turns out they were just that bad.

Re: Excuses versus the facts...

I think the truth lies somewhere in the middle. Like it or not, we are young. Also, the O Line is on its 5th coach in 6 years. We also went the entire summer with an OC that quit and we had to throw a new one in with no real time to implement his system. But young teams win as well and these guys were continually not prepared. I still think the pieces are in place for us to turn the corner pretty quickly.

Agreed. Some things haven't gone our way, but good coaches will overcome that. I'd buy into the new system, inexperience, young thing if half the teams we were playing weren't dealing with the same crap and beating us.

This is all on the head coach, the CEO. The good ones manage/anticipate this kind of stuff, which is essential to the success of the program. The bad ones make excuses.

Hawk has had four full years. He may be a decent coach, but he doesn't seem to know how to run a program. Big difference.
