Because it'll be all you against me for the next nine months! Bring it on, di..., fellas. Because I believe we will turn the corner next year.

well, dbt, you are going to get your wish for another year of this staff. the only reasonable thing to do is hope that you are correct. there is no point now in bitching about firing the staff. they are here for at least another year. woohoo. i guess.

You think he´s gonna be given the full season no matter what?

Get this straight. It was not my "wish." Capice? But like you say, this is where we are going and I'm going to stand behind Hawkins and the guys. I do believe that Hawkins has coaching ability. This season was like a bad dream. Nothing went right. Sometimes, **** just happens. Who knows why. Sometimes fate is the hunter.

Yes... :sad1:

Things haven't gone right for the last 4 years. I think we have a pretty decent idea why...

yes. our administration has no commitment to winning. therefore, they will wait until the buyout is less (ie at the completion of next year).

Bingo. ISU, Baylor - look out, you're about to get some competition for being irrelevant in college football.

I thought you wanted Hawk back for another year DBT?

Nope. I left it up to the AD. I'd have supported either. I'll say this. I think that making a change would have been a crap shoot. It would have either worked or would have sent us into another four or five year spiral. I also believe that Hawkins can coach. So, given the choice, I think the AD decided that the odds were better sticking with Hawkins. There are a lot of things about him I don't like. But I also believe that, especially under adversity, people can rise from failure to success. My hope is that Hawkins will dust himself off, work twice as hard, make adjustments, and turn this thing around. Not only that, I think, maybe more importantly, the players will do the same.

God love ya, DBT...but c'mon. You know I don't like to pile on with this Coach Hawkins stuff, but this demands a response.

LAST season (by that I mean 2008) NOTHING went right. The injuries were devastating.

But this season, the things that didn't go right were under our Staff's control and our Team's control. Things didn't go right? Like not getting plays in on time? Like false starts? Like not punching the ball in after getting into our opponents' 20? Their 10? Like giving up Punt returns? Like blocking in the back on, I think, every single punt return this season?

These aren't issues of the ball bouncing the wrong way. This were matters of a team self-destructing. They've got nowhere to look except inward for the misfortunes of this season.

Well DBT, we'll see how good a salesman you are during the off-season :smile2:
The worst part is that I am certain that the kool-aid will begin to smell good after the Spring game, then I will take the leap and give it a taste right before training camp. I will taste real nice and I will be hooked... again. I can't help it I am a CU addict.

Then crash, boom, bam... CSU happens and I am crushed again. :sad1:

Oh well, maybe I'll win the lottery or something.

Well that isn't really what I asked, I'm fairly certain you would support DiStefano picking up a headset and naming himself HC. I thought you joined the camp that thought Hawk had to go and you named a few reasons for why you thought so. Either way, I understand you're going to support nonetheless, and that's fine.

I can't agree with you at all on the unfortunate things, though. It's not like we got screwed over in any of our games by penalties that we didn't commit or something. We killed ourselves all season long. Our special teams giving teams the ball at the 50 every single time we punt is not unfortunate, it's failure. Giving up a special teams touchdown every single game is not fluke. Coaches that call Hansen over to the sideline to give him the play so he can run to the far side of the field in a huddle isn't an accident. I just think we made our own s****y luck.

Hawkins cares so much about the program that he canceled all recruiting visits this weekend when he thought he was gone. It's absurdly difficult to see any positives right now without being downright delusional.

I missed some of the second quarter and all of the third. What happened? What I did see of the first half was the same ole story. Mistakes, mistakes, and umm mistakes. Bad thing is, they are the same ones weve been making all year. Have we had a game that we didnt give up a huge punt return or koff return, my goodness? You cannot turn the ball over, give up big plays on special teams, and miss fgs and expect to beat anyone, not with this squad. For someone that preaches the little things, he has a hard time coaching them. Penalties, turnovers, and field position are huge. Young team or not, until I see any and i mean any improvement in these areas, I have serious doubt Hawk can be a head coach here.

And there you have it. What more do you need to know, really? Once again, we're talking about a coach who is in his 4th year leading the program, not his first or second year.

Give up a pick six and a punt return and expect to beat anyone when one of our biggest problems on offense is a homerun hitter type? Tell you what, you are gonna lose those games about 99% of the time.

Ah to look through DBT black & gold glasses. I do think we may win a few more games next year do to more experience, I will be very surprised if we are over .500. I see 4 to 5 wins with NU knocking us out of bowl eligibility.

Damn straight. The onus is on the coaches to turn this thing around, enough with the pussified bull**** excuses. We are not "a couple plays away" or anything resembling a good football team.

Not a couple, he said 10 plays away from a bowl game.

Great, I'm only 8 inches from being 7 foot tall. Bring it SHAQ!!!!!

To me, that is the ultimate cop out. I mean how many programs across the country can say we are a play here or a play there? Good teams make that play, dont jump offsides, and dont turn the ball over. Just take accountability Hawk, you'd get more respect.

DBT, what in the hell makes you think that this team will be better next yr.....what coach Hawkins 4 yr record stands out at you...or is it that the same team will be back next yr....please help, because as long as Hawkins is here, this team will not see a bowl game next yr....I hope I am wrong on that...but....

This. How many coaches come out and say "a play here or a play there and we would've won this game. We're close!" Rhetorical question - none! Les Miles ****s up with TO's last week and fesses up immediately after the game.

I just can't understand the saps that continue to buy into his crap.
