Now that we know Talkins will be back next season and we can probably expect more of the same, are you going to renew next season?

I´d appreciate it if students or non season ticket holders restrained from voting as I just want to get a picture where those who are actually paying "real money" for the STs are leaning.

THIS POLL IS NOT PUBLIC

No. I live out of state anyway so I can't go to every game. Why support this garbage of a product we put on the field with this coaching staff?

EDIT: I only buy the cheapest ones available, but that's still $180-225 less.

I used to sit in front a guy and his wife and I just talked to him the other day before the cowardly decision was made. This is their 46th consecutive year of having season tickets, and he told me that he will definitely not be renewing if Hawk is back.

nope.

i buy tix i can't even use, just to support the program. but, it is a 2-way street. i've gotten the message loud and clear from this administration: they don't care about winning. period.

as a result, i don't care to donate to an enterprise that is not positioned to succeed.

i am not trying to start another flame-fest, nor am i overly emotional about it at this point. i am just voting with my wallet. i am done with financial support to CU, ACROSS THE BOARD, until they demonstrate a commitment to winning. i donate to arts/sciences, norlin, the schollie program that gave me a schollie, and the CUAD. after today, not one more penny to anything for CU until changes are made.

i am just plain tired of the bull**** from them. i'll always be a fan and a Buff, but i am not investing in leadership i don't believe in.

The Admin won't know of the effect unless you tell them. Write a letter to all of those programs that you donate to. Seriously.

i have already done that. it doesn't matter anymore.

i don't live in colorado. following the football program is really my only tangible link to the school. my heart stays black and gold but my $ now goes elsewhere.

FIFY

Humans have a funny habit of not caring until it hits them where it hurts them most, the wallet.

As I sat in todays game with the same group of alum & boosters as I have for 25 years. They pretty much talked me into buying tix again for 2010. They also said they would understand if I didn't renew. But when one of them said they would really miss me, It made me pause and think just how much I would miss them as well. Anyway, I caved in. You guys can ripp me if you want, but it's easier said than done when you consider giving up something that's been part of your life for so long.

That's cool. No beef with you renewing your tickets. Liver and I are out of staters though. We probably only number a thousand or so. I imagine most of us will not renew.

I'll still be there @Cal and @OU. The Admin or AD won't get my $$$, but I'll still support the team and players.

Would you consider taking some of the money you would have spent on Football season tix and apply it to Ralphie's Kids Roundup or Chauncey's Kids? The AD doesn't profit, but they give some less fortunate kids a great gameday experience at football and basketball games (and them being there cheering helps support our players).

What about this: I'll buy a season ticket to FB AND will donate to RKR and maybe even Chauncy's Kids when Hawk is gone. I'm serious. I've thought about it before, but it's probably considered child abuse to let our kids see our FB team play.

The BBall team though is on the way up!

I will not be renewing. I am drifting very close to the point of not caring. It hit about the time Niles Paul reached the end zone on another special teams disaster. I am sick of losing. I will go to 2-3 games next season by buying individual tickets and I will most likely be making a road trip to see the Buffs, but I can sit comfortably at home for most of the home games next season.

I feel the same way as you.... and I am not overly emotional about it....

however.... I am going to renew for the sole reason that I expect so many people to drop, that I will move into much better seats for when we are good.

The administration WILL change.... I just want to be in a better position when it happens....

It is like buying a stock when it is down.

I am also considering putting my money "away" and then giving it when the administration cares about football.....

My friend and his dad used my season tix this season. I will not be renewing and they are done going. I was going to fly in for a few games next year but, will probably pass. I'll support the buffs from the pacific northwest.

I did not get season tix this yr do to the fact that I was laid off......next yr not looking so good

I have had season tickets since 96 and next year will be the first home game I will miss since enrolling.

Planning on putting up some pretty good $ for some good tix, but I am still waiting.

If Bohn is let go, (which is very likely) then absolutely not.

It's bad enough when you have no support from the administration, but when administration starts putting its' nose where it doesn't belong... You become Yale. (But without the academics)

I will be renewing and given that so many people will not be, probably going the upgrade route too. Not as a nod to Hawkins or anybody else but Buff Football is a part of me.

I started going to games during the Fairbanks era and my family started in the 1950s. I am not an alumni and have no loyalty to the university other than the football and basketball programs. I just had my first kid this year (son) and I want him to grow up having the opportunity to experience game days at Folsom, win or lose.

Also, I believe that the last thing this program needs is people jumping ship. We have our backs against the wall financially as it is.

Sorry, you are wrong. The last thing this program needs is another year of Hawkins. I appreciate your loyalty to the program. I will not be renewing, but I will probably buy the inevitable dirt cheap deals they will offer. This program will survive a year of crappy attendance, and the empty seats in the stadium will be loud and clear. Next year they will start feeling the wallet pinch and learn the hard way.

I will not be renewing. It's a fiscal decision to me.

As many have pointed out, it's a fiscal decision to retain Mr. Hawkins (IMO he has not earned the title "coach"). There isn't enough money to buy him out.

Well, guess what, my money for my tickets is an investment. It's an investment in my entertainment and in my pride in my alma mater. NO ONE buys tickets to see their Alma Mater's program get embarrassed. Over the past four years, I have seen both decline dramatically (I'm still proud and will forever be proud to be a graduate of the University of Colorado, but I am not proud to be a fan of the sports teams in general of the University of Colorado). My return on my investment after this past year is non-existant. So what happens when your investment vehicles stop performing? YOU STOP ****ING INVESTING IN THEM. From my standpoint, the leadership and management of the Athletics arm of the University no longer has interest in pleasing the shareholders, and so I will stop giving them my money. When (and God I hope it's a 'when' and not an 'if') they start caring and providing entertainment and increasing my pride in my Alma Mater's sports teams again, I will start investing again.

Not to mention the fact that I have a wedding to pay for (my own) very shortly, so dollars are precious now.

And while we're on the subject of money, it's been beaten into the ground about the $3 to $3.5 million it would cost to buy Mr. Hawkins out. A significant chunk of change to be sure. But does anyone know if a cost analysis has been done on how much it's going to cost to retain him? I mean a true best case-worst case-middle case analysis of how much season ticket dollars will be lost, donation dollars will be lost, sponsorship dollars will be lost, and so on and so forth? Not just over the next year, but the next 2, or 3 or 4? Based on what I've seen, I can't see where that has been done. And THAT data is just as important as how much the buyout. Because if the #'s of people that are going to withhold their money is as huge as is feared, they will not all come back as soon as the next coach is announced. It'll take 2, 3, 4 or more years for them to trickle back. Pissbomber, have you heard anything on this?

I haven't voted in the poll because I honestly don't know what I'm going to do. I've wavered back and forth on whether I'd renew all 4 of my tickets, renew with only 2 tickets, upgrade, downgrade, or drop entirely. This is still too much of an emotional decision to make right now. I'll think some more and wait a month or two and then make a final decision.

But, if I drop my season tickets, I don't plan on coming back. I'm a 2nd gen alum, I grew up going to games, and that's a painful thing to say, but it's how I feel. That reason is probably what's pushing me to hang onto the tickets and renew, since once I let go, I don't see coming back.

exactly.... I am on the fence and can argue either side.... Right now I am leaning towards photo copying a check and saying that it is on hold until the attitude about sports changes....

But my season tixs and donation are very small compared to most.
