just yet another quote by Dan Talkins in his post game presser this evening  as he commented on what he got himself into when he arrived 4 yrs ago..

What a mother****ing arrogant little prick to say such ****.

Sure things were not great but they sure as hell were not as bad as he says and they have not got much better.

Arrogant prick. We may not be Bama and can reload in 2 years, but it wasn't as bad as it is now. I don't know if I want CU to win a lot of games next year. I want him gone either way even if we were to win the Zen BS National Championship.

Thought this thread could use some theme music people could enjoy while they read.

The least shocking quote I have seen today. Dan Hawkins is all about protecting his legacy now. If it happens to coincide with CU football success, so be it. If not, it matters little to him. The guy is going to come out with another "guarantee" this Spring. You wanna know the difference this time? He will pick some low hanging fruit-perhaps a bowl game. In the end, the guy has little interest in actually taking responsibility.

Why does Barnett continue to publicly support this piece of ****?

Hawkins no longer even has the "good guy" thing going for him. Not only is he an absolutely terrible coach and highly eccentric, he's also an asshole. Fantastic.

I know why Barnett does it. He hates CU. He is still bitter about being canned. He does want the program burned to the ground, and he knows the longer that Danny sticks around, the more likely of that outcome.

I don't think despite what happened to him that Barnett hates CU, in fact I think he wishes CU well and cares how CU does.

I think that for that reason he hopes that Hawk can turn it around and do well even though his head says it won't happen. He doesn't like seeing a fellow coach go through the ringer of bad publicity and a firing like he did even if for different reasons.

At the same time nobody knows better than Barnett exactly how screwed up the administration at CU is and the obstacles it presents to a successful program. I think he will support whoever is the coach.

Hawk thought he would come here and blaze a path of glory. So far it's been a pussy fart. His ego won't allow him to be wrong and despite being a bad coach with an awful record, he will keep spouting gpa, good citizens and tell himself and everyone else that he did all the right things.

He's a con artist. He won't allow himself to be blamed for anything. I've said many times he is much better off the field than barnett but in the category that counts in wins and losses he's far behind.

He deflects his pathetic record and coaching by blaming barnett and going back 4 years when he arrived. Sorry con man, you've had 4 years to rebuild and you have 3 wins in year 4. Nobody cares about your gpa's and your citizens. You've laid that foundation. Get your wheelbarrel and start laying some bricks on a winning season.

Douchebag

No one that truly cares about CU football being good could possibly support Dan Hawkins being our coach.

I think that is an arrogant, self serving, piece of **** remark.

Really?

Allow me to rephrase: No one who truly cares about CU football winning and isn't delusional could support Hawkins as coach...

I think it is really telling that you think it is acceptable for Hawkins to repeatedly and publicly insult the program, the fans, the previous coaches and players, and the university as a whole and continue to promote him as coach, while simultaneously dismissing anyone who takes issue with his egregious incompetence and grating persona as a "dickwad".

I'll support a Hawkins extension before I willingly listen to another Nickelback song.

The media and Boulder DA office helped with the program's burning under Barnett. By the end of the fall semester 2007 it looked like things had been fully cleaned up from that, and in a big way. All Hawkins and his staff had to do once that damage was controlled was make some smart decisions and they continue to fail at that. We should try to get them all fired for an honor code violation because for the next year it's been made public they'll be stealing university money.

It's sickening. When he arrived he talked about Big XII championships and flipping national championships!1!i?ii!.

Now he makes himself out to be a hero if the same percentage of players who have always graduated continue to do so. Sickening.

Let's face it. Danny was succesful at BSU because of a strong staff. Somehow, Collins skated through. When Danny came to CU, his stellar staff was nowhere to be found (they stayed in BF Boise, and play for BCS bowls every year). How could bohn and deStafadoosh not come to that conclusion?

What are his graduation rates compared to recent CU coaches, does anyone know where to find those numbers?

dan needs to take his little victory of being retained and shut the **** up. really. there's nothing to be gained from his continual talking about how awesome he is and how bad Colorado football was. as long as his teams suck out loud on Saturday/Thursday...and the more contrary to fact he starts to sound.

Bingo. But then, Dan has never been about taking the high road with criticism. He loves to be smug whenever possible.

He's still trying to recruit.

If you listened to his show Wednesday night you could sense his smugness as he already knew he was undeservedly getting another year.
