We've tossed the stat around a lot. 16 wins in 4 years. But I got curious who they've been against, and how those teams ended up. So I made a list... :smile2:

2006

Texas Tech 30-6 8-5 (beat Minnesota in bowl game)
Iowa State 33-16 4-8

2007

Colorado State 31-28 3-9
Miami, Oh 42-0 6-7 (lost CCG to Central Michigan)
Oklahoma 27-24 11-3 (Big XII champs, lost to West Virginia in bowl game)
@Baylor 43-23 3-9
@Texas Tech 31-26 9-4 (beat Virginia in bowl game)
Nubraska 65-51 5-7

2008

Colorado State 38-17 7-6 (beat Fresno State in bowl game)
Eastern Washington 31-24 6-5
West Virginia 17-14 9-4 (beat North Carolina in bowl game)
Kansas State 14-13 5-7
Iowa State 28-24 2-10

2009

Wyoming 24-0 6-6
Kansas 34-30 5-6, leading Missouri
Texas A&M 35-34 6-6

That's it. The OU win is obviously the signature one. The back to back wins against decent TT teams are probably next...

Interesting point, but today in the OSU vs OU game they mentioned how OU has not lost 2 in a row this year. They ended up 7-5 in the regular season. Talk about toughness.

What are the patterns we have for W/Ls? Didn't we lose 9 straight since FSU until we beat KU this year?

Edit: Wyo, not KU.

Starting from Hawk's first game:

6 losses
Win (Tech)
3 losses
Win (ISU)
Loss - end season

Win (CSU)
2 losses
3 Wins (Miami, OH, OU, @ Baylor)
2 losses
Win (@ Tech)
2 losses
Win (nubs)
Loss (bowl game vs. Bama) - end season

3 Wins (CSU, Eastern Washington, WVU)
3 losses
Win (KSU)
2 losses
Win (Iowa State)
2 losses - end season

2 losses
Win (Wyoming)
2 losses
Win (KU)
2 losses
Win (aTm)
3 losses

6 of the 16 wins have actually come in 2 3 game winning streaks in 07 and 08.... EDIT: And I'm a bit shocked to realized there isn't more than a 3 game losing streak in there since the first 6 games of 2006.... other than the last 2 last year and first 2 this year, I guess...

3W-3L-1W-2L-1W-2L

Streaks:
3+ losses: 4
2+ losses: 12
2+ wins: 2
3+ wins: 2
4+ wins: LOL

The only slim hope I have left is Mike Stoops basically had an identical record his first four years: 17-29. They went 8-5 last year and are 7-4 so far this year. It is all the hope I have left...

My fingers have been crossed for NCAA sanctions for the other 11 schools of the Big XII, and also for CSU, Cal and Georgia. While it's not likely, it could certainly happen.

Part of me is so pissed off that Briscoe couldnt hold on to one last ball and that the A&M returner wasnt able to hold on to the ball. If those two were to happen, we would be 1-11 and there is absolutely no way Hawkins gets retained.

The other half sees it as the team does, a few plays from going bowling.

I'm inviting more negativity with this comment, but in addition to those 16 wins, plenty of the losses were against some BAD teams.
