From a much better scoop site:

Murray State: Our sources tell us that Murray State is certainly interested in Colorado offensive line coach Denver Johnson.

Yes please....

The only downside to that would be the transition to yet another new OL coach...

Are they the FIRST to report this BREAKING news?

As for Johnson leaving, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

From 1997-1999, Johnson compiled 3 consecutive 7-4 seasons during his previous stint as Head Coach at Murray State.

I view this situation as a "damned if you, damned if you don't" type thing. I have not been impressed with DJ at all, but we really need some stability at OL coach for a change.

If Johnson leaves, they might as well give the job to Bedell. They won't attract any quality candidates with the current uncertainty of the staff after next season, and Bedell was here when they knew how to squash people up front. Maybe he remembers how he was coached.

Sounds good to me. Hire the Nevada OC as running game coordinator/Oline coach!

Yeah I can certainly agree with that. If he stays I'm not going to be too upset, if he leaves, whatever. Hopefully if he leaves Bedell stays and we can have continuity in that sense. It just seems like too many people got worse under DJ this year than got better.

Did you guys know that after our 3 coordinators (Collins, Kiesau & Riddle), that Denver Johnson is the highest paid assistant coach on the staff?

He makes $185k while Cabral and Brown are both at $169k.

such bull****

I thought there was a question regarding Bedell having a degree. Has that been resolved?

I've been trying to figure that out. I know he took summer school classes this year but I don't know if he got all the credits he needed. I'll send off a PM to Ringo and let you guys know if/when he gets back to me.

I dont like the fact that he may be leaving, this would be the 4th OL coach in four yrs...not good

4th in 5 / 3rd in 4, iirc. But your point stands. Replacement would either have to be a superstar or Brad Bedell (since he's been here the past 3 years).

You expect a miracle turn around in 1 year? These are not even his players. OL is tough to recruit. This coaching position is almost as import as the coordinator. You don't have a good OL and you cant do squat on offense.

I sure hope not. We're not going to be able to get a quality candidate for the lame duck HC. We really need some consistency. DJ has only coached these guys one season and truth be told it will take 2 years to get this thing rebuilt.
