Hawk's seat is getting hotter again.

Anyone else feel like this thing is not over yet? I am starting to think that the chances of Hawk not being at CU next year are starting to grow again.

Seems like it is still a very fluid situation. The media wants blood and if they stay on this it will just keep firing up alumni and donors. I am guessing they noticed a huge decline in donations since Thursday.

Big Al may have set the ball in motion as more info seems to keep coming out about how screwed up the situation is up there. Funny thing is, from listing to Al's show today, none of this was planned with the two interviews... Just seemed to be something they came up with during the show.

Anyway, who else thinks this show isn't over yet?

Since none of these "fluid interviews" involve DiStefano or Benson then...

NO. Hawk is back in 2010.

Unless the Regents get involved nothing will change. Since they are the only ones that are voted in they are the only ones that can apply any real pressure at this point.

Well then get the regents involved. Write and call the Regents to let them know how you feel.

The interviews with Clough and AW and all are great, but until this gets picked up and ran with by the major local news, and then SI or ESPN eventually and the major national bloggers, nothing is going to change.

There's some blood in the water, but unless a big shark comes along, ain't nothing gonna change.

It will pass, if the broncos make the playoffs and the nuggets staying the course, unless major media pick up the heat,it will die down.

That is just total bull**** speculation. Come on man. Stop starting crap like this.

If certain people would stop talking, bohn wouldn't be rushing to every radio sports staion to clean up the mess, only problem is bohn is getting heat also.

ya. this thread sucks. Gave me a flare of hope. **** that. I don't have hope anymore. Any vestiges of it just cause pain.

Man, some of you have done a full 360 since last year
I think this is pretty consistent from what I said last year, Hawk had one more year. He needed a bowl game to keep me even neutral. He didn't get close. I gave him his chance. But ya, funny ...

Did you listen to the radio today? I didn't start anything. Alfred and GB lit a match under Hawks seat and Bohn poured a gallon of lighter fluid on it by dodging all the questions.

As long as people are talking about it and voicing their concerns (Big Al) then the pressure isn't going to go away.

But I thought he was only 10 plays away?

Rivals hasn't updated all of their INTERESTEDs lists yet, but I suspect the "Hawkins gets one more year" news is having a ripple effect and prospective recruits have an understanding of what they'll get (and won't get) from CU Football.

Suffice to say, I don't see "COLORADO" listed among the nation's top RBs. Maybe that will change.

I do think Hawkins is getting ready to turn the corner with his version of CU Football. Those 3 win seasons may be a thing of the past!

I thought boards were supposed to start crap like this  The notion that a speculative inquiry on a message board will influence anybody at CU is whack my friend.

I think this will die down, but come Feb. when LOI day comes closer it will start up again. After 4 straight losing seasons, Hawkins will always be on the HOT seat until he proves otherwise.

Hawk is back in 2010 folks. End of story.

We can still completely crush the 2010 recruiting class and make sure anyone from the 2011 class who may be interested is completely set straight though. That's what I think we should be doing. Let's make sure that the recruits are absolutely straight that the fan base won't settle for one more year, even if it meant success on the field. They need to know how we feel!

Anyone go to the basketball game last night?

A lot of things need to happen this offseason, I agree that a thread like this is mostly worthless because it is just not realistic that Hawkins is going to fired now. However, you are going overboard with this angle you are taking on fans ruining the next few recruiting classes. The damage has already been done with the poor season we just completed. I am usually pretty optimistic about recruiting this time of year, but this staff has nothing left to sell. In the end, that will be the reason the recruiting class will end up being mediocre, not the fans.

And yes, I did go to the basketball game last night.

The only way Hawk's seat is getting hotter these days is if he farts in his chair. He will be back next year.

The entire school was getting torn into again this morning on 1510.

I think Hawk seat is getting hotter again, and now Bohn's seat is getting much, much hotter.... but I don't think anything will happen

So, you think we're going winless next year? :sad1:

At this point, it would be a mistake to fire Hawkins. As much as I hate to say that, it's true. You can't come out one week and say he's safe and then fire him the next. That's unprofessional. One of the few things Bohn has going for him is that he's a consumate professional. He's stood up to the slings and arrows that have been flung his way because of the ineptitude of his football coach and he's still standing. He'd come across as a complete fool if he fired Hawkins now.

Nope, that boat sailed. Now we're all stuck on this sinking ship.

What if he resigns on his own?
