All the Dan talk about CU=Kansas State before Darth Snyder

I think I'd actually have to agree. I think Stoops, Brown, Gundy, Pelini, Snyder, and Leach are a cut above. Pinkel would go in some middle category with the recently departed Mangino. Then at the bottom are Briles, Rhodes, Sherman, and Hawk. Briles seemed to have Baylor headed in the right direction with Griffin, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Sherman might be giving Hawk some competition, but their offense is pretty good, if they can find a defense next year, they could be scary. Rhodes beat Hawk this year, so that gives him the advantage. :sad1:

EDIT: Forgot that Hawk beat Sherman this year, hmm. I still think I give it to Sherman considering he won last year, so it's not like Hawk has owned him.

i think ATM is on the up. too much talent there to continue to suck. but, the whole Aggie thing confuses me. i didn't get the Sherman hire and am still confused how Francione was good everywhere else and then sucked at ATM.

Rhodes has ISU in a bowl game, don't see how he's not getting mo' love.

Yeah I don't get it either. Coaching turmoil over the years I guess? I don't really know enough about A&M to make an accurate assessment. They're probably just another in the long line of dumb schools that hired an NFL OC who isn't getting it done.

the whole maybe we get the next Pete Carroll NFL thing is *so* 2003. Callahan, Greg Robinson, Al Groh, Charlie Weis etc. all sucked despite their NFL "decided schematic advantage" arrogance. but, ATM seems to be about 5 years behind the dead curve.

Sherman lost to Arkansas State at Kyle. They play a soft OOC schedule so their annual losses to Tech, OU, and Texas won't prohibit them from 7 wins....but is that all they want?

Almost just as bad....they lost to CU.

After ISU won on the road in Lincoln, Rhodes went from a nobody to a good guy in my book. He seems like a good fit. I can't help but like his enthusiasm for the game, and how that translated into winning.
