Re: '10 CA WR Tyler Slavin

Slavin is definitely one of my favorites. He's one of the best deep threats we're looking at. Originally from Colorado, he's got high interest in CU and should be visiting.

Re: '10 CA WR Tyler Slavin

Do you think he'll be scared off by the fact that we already have a Slavin commit?

I hope we don't lose him to another school with less Slavin depth.

Re: '10 CA WR Tyler Slavin

At that height, speed can be deceiving. 4.6 isn't blazing, but I suspect it has more to do with being slower off the line. I'd be interested in knowing what his time is in the last 40 yards of a 50 yard dash.

Re: '10 CA WR Tyler Slavin

Nice moves, fast kid, would be a nice addition to our deeeep WR corps.

Don't worry about recruiting site 40s with him. He made states in track in California. He runs the 100 (10.8 time), 200 and 400 and his HS relay team finished 5th in the state.

Slavin is plenty fast.

Re: '10 CA WR Tyler Slavin

The guy is 6-2. I've always felt that the cliche tight end is 6-4, or 6-5. Any taller, and we force to kid to abandon his dream and put him on the O-line...Poor Nate Solder. Whats the measurables in the ideal tightend?

What the hell does this question have to do with Tyler Slavin?

Re: '10 CA WR Tyler Slavin

I think confused with Kyle Slavin, the TE from Litttleton who verbaled.

To answer the question, a prototypical TE is usually somewhere between 6'4" and 6'6".

He is confused about a lot of things.

Re: '10 CA WR Tyler Slavin

Scout just had an update article on Tyler Slavin.

http://recruiting.scout.com/2/882754.html

Washington is #1 with Arizona, Nebraska, Colorado and Northwestern pretty much tied for 2nd place in his top 5. Loves the coaches there with their USC backhground.

On CU:

Slavin, who was born in Denver and lived in the Centennial State for two years. “That’s my hometown,” he said. “It would be pretty cool to go back.”

I expect we'll get a visit and have an outside shot.

Re: '10 CA WR Tyler Slavin

Kind of in conflict with Scout, a couple weeks ago he told Rivals that his Top 3 was Arizona, Nebraska & Oregon. He said his interest in Northwestern was "minimal".

His criteria: "I'm looking at coaches, players, the environment, the offense, playing time and the depth chart," he said.

Re: '10 CA WR Tyler Slavin

Good news today! Tyler announced his 5 visits: Arizona, Washington, Colorado, Nebraska and Northwestern. AZ and UDub are his top 2. He seems to have cooled a little on the corn.

Moving to the hot list when I get the chance today.

awesome.

Imagine two Slavins on the roster.

Re: '10 CA WR Tyler Slavin

udub is in on him? good luck, they seem to have momentum and the right schtick right now.

Re: '10 CA WR Tyler Slavin

It came down to Arizona and Nebraska. Arizona won. Slavin gave them his verbal today.

Re: '10 CA WR Tyler Slavin (Committed to Arizona)

Damn, I thought we had a good chance at him and Mobley. I guess he didn't want to get back to Denver that badly after all. :sad1:

Re: '10 CA WR Tyler Slavin (Committed to Arizona)

Ah yes, more wonderful news on the recruiting front :pissed3:
Maybe we can bring in some of the players that had committed to Hofstra.

Re: '10 CA WR Tyler Slavin (Committed to Arizona)

Meh. WR is not a big need in this class. I am much more concerned with the recruiting on the defensive front seven and at RB right now.

Re: '10 CA WR Tyler Slavin (Committed to Arizona)

The depth chart is finally where it needs to be (not saying we are as talented as it needs to be) but we are finally at the point where freshmen will redshirt unless they are just so good they can't be kept off the field.

TE is the only position where I see contribution likely from a new recruit (barring attrition of course).

WR is not a position of immediate need, but would love to see a kid come in that "can't be kept off the field". We still need more playmakers. One who could return punts would be nice.

Not sure of Grossnickle's progress, but we need someone to upgrade the Punting/Kicking game big time. If it's not Zach, then we need someone to come in and do that.

Re: '10 CA WR Tyler Slavin

Did you post that before or after Curtis Carter de-committed?

Before. Slavin still isn't near the top of the list though. Hill & Wright are still the 2. Tejay Johnson is another that we want BADLYas Safety or WR.

Carter may hurt. Appears he will head to TCU. For whatever reason(Watson) we just don't throw to the slot guys and Carter didn't like that. Can't blame him.

 bad coaching kills you on more then just gameday. We know :smile2:

It appears the youger Gabbert just pissed backwards on us as well. Sounds like all his visits to Mizzou to "see his brother" made our coaches give him the ultimatum.

Appears we will turn our efforts back to the guy all the fans wanted..Sean Robinson from Illinois. He committed to Purdon't when Gabbert said yes to us so I don't know how open he is.

Also maybe opens up a little for Detchauz Wray, who may play the slot.

Early signing periods would certainly put an end to this commit and hold a spot BS while I shop BS.
