Hawk's tweet: "Got some great players committed to be Buffs next year! Just a few spots left"......

We're standing at 11 and I figure we will take 24 or so. What???????

Please tell me we aren't harboring a bunch of silent commits again. COMMIT!!!!

It wouldn't surprise me if there are a couple the services don't know about. On top of that, there's a good chance some of the guys coming for their official visit are doing so in order to commit (and the coaches know that).

So more than a few, but probably not the dozen or so slots we were figuring. I'm sure Hawk's just trying to get a positive message out to the fan base while also putting a bit of pressure on the fence sitters we're after.

probably a few walk ons getting scollies. I have been real dissapointed with the recruiting sites this year. The coverage has really gone to crap IMO.

That's great. The University of Colorado is a fantastic place to play football and attend school.

Kids from all over the country pay big bucks to attend school in Boulder. Rather, their parents do.

Well, you can pretty much throw that 24-player figure out. My guess is closer to 20, maybe even less.

That's where the math's leading me, too. We're going to have over 60 guys on scholarship come NSD, possibly as many as 65 if Zion Babb enrolls as a transfer in January.

wow found this on his twitter page:

To all you colorado fan. Get over it. I didnt get into your school. I'm at Seton Hill your coaches are to blame ask them what happen. STFU!

Hawk sitting on the can Twitering, twaturing, Pulling and pushing.:rofl2::jester::dance:

Cryptically ... yes, I believe there are a few, uh, very interesting names out there who plan to be buffs.

Now, don't you feel ever so much better knowing that?:smile2:

I was checking out the ku board. From some of the comments I read, it sounds like they have lost some recruits over the Mangino thing. Now I wonder if any of those kids were recruited by CU?

KU recruits who are wavering - at least thinking about options:

Andrew Turzilli - WR
With the Kansas situation still unsettled, Turzilli has been receiving new founded attention from other schools.
"It's opened some other doors for me," said Turzilli.

Geneo Grissom DE
Has scheduled a trip to LSU.

“Right now I’m just letting the dust settle from all of the craziness that is going on at Kansas,” Grissom said regarding the Mangino resignation. “Once the dust settles from that situation and things become clearer, that is when I’ll make a decision either way. There is no reason for me to be jumping to conclusions while things are still crazy like they are. I still have some time before I have to make my final decision.”
Jeremiah Edwards DT
“Well, I'm going to still stay with Kansas if they keep my recruiting coach (Beaty) and my position coach (Tom Sims)," Edwards said.
While Kansas is still Edwards likely destination some other schools are turning up their attention.

"At the beginning of the recruiting process I was very interested in Oklahoma State, then I committed to Kansas," Edwards said. "Lately, I've been hearing a lot from Texas Tech, SMU, and Tulsa. But for now Kansas is the only school I've scheduled an official visit with."
Oddly enough, KU has a few commits who were previously committed elsewhere, but switched to Kansas during the season:

Keeston Terry (was ****er)
Trayvon Henry (was a sooner)
Jaqwaylin Arps (was Texas Tech)

so someone mentioned Zion - is he coming or is it still in speculation stages?

Speculation. There was a Rivals article in which he talked us up as being the option at the forefront, but he was still open to looking around. No news in the past couple weeks.

"Interesting names?" Mister Jones is certainly an interesting name. There, saved you a Rivals subscription.

The less recruits this year the better. That way it gives the next coach more options and the ability to restock with his own guys a bit faster. I just hope he doesn't pull a Patton and screw the next guy.

Last I checked, Hawkins' contract runs through 2012 and we need to sign over 20 to get to the 85 max. There is absolutely no reason to think that Hawkins won't be the coach for the next 3 seasons (at least) except for the internet posts of a good number of CU fans and some rumor mongering web sites that had bad information.

If you want to debate this, let's take it to the CU Football forum.

Just a few spots left.. that doesn't excite me. Has Hawk ever said what his philosophy was regarding open scholarships? Does he prefer leaving a few open for walk-ons and such?

Last I checked, I should not be posting crap like this in the recruiting forum. I apologize to the board.

Last I checked, Hawkins sucked as a football coach. As for reasons to think that he won't be the coach for the next 3 years. I can't even count the losses anymore, but there has to be about a couple dozen right there.

Dude there's like one rule about negativity on this site, it can't be posted in the recruiting forum. Go bump 15 other Hawk sucks threads in the football forum or go for broke in the smack forum with a real doozy.
