New Walk on QB? Did I miss this?

Somebody posted this at BS, and there is no link to a profile yet on the CU website... Did I miss this or is this brand new?

heres a story on him

anyone know anything else?

I first noticed him showing up after DS left. I dont know if he was the last one to be cut for the season and once that roster slot opened, he got the call. Just my two cents, and its purely hypothetical

He's been on the team for a while. He was an ok prep QB in Cali, more of an athlete really, didn't get a D1 offer, thought a year at prep school in the northeast would do him good, and after that walked on at CU during the fall semester. Supposedly he was better than Slota (and Slota has announced he won't be continuing with the team).

Frequenting all of the boards, AB has by far been doing the best job of getting info out there this season so far.

collegefootballscoop.com had it breaking news 5 minutes before Allbuffs did

well with this recruiting class we have going there will be a ton of open scholarships for him.

Bet his folks are really hoping he gets put on schollie.

The good news for him is that with Hawkins recruiting small classes and attrition there are going to be some scholly's open.

The bad news is that I think his timing is not very good. Had he come four years ago when our QB depth was a black hole he may have had a good chance to see the field (as a back-up, Hawk had already decided who his starter would be .)

At this point it finally looks like we are going to have some quality depth at the position. Barring injury or blatant stupidity on the coaches parts TH will be our starter next year and likely the year after. Cody will be the backup with Clark Evans pushing as the year goes on. Evans is a talented athlete who came in pretty raw in some areas, it will be interesting to see how he has developed.

Behind those three we will have Seth Lobato who is also a big talented kid who was recruited as a QB walk-on and based on physical size and his HS numbers would have been a D1 scholly player had he played at a bigger school.

Past these we have Nick Hirschman coming in who I think has the potential to be a BIG TIME college QB. He was a late developer in HS and had he done last year what he did this year we would have had huge competition for him. The wild card is assuming Munchie sticks to his commitment he had been rated higher than Hirschman and is a very athetic QB.

All of this leads to it being very hard to justify giving a Scholly to a WO QB unless he just blows people away. Under the circumstances he may have a hard time even getting much of a look in practice.

I have talked to a couple folks who think Seth Lobato surprised everyone.

My take: I'm just glad we have some real talent and competition at this position. Spring practice should be interesting, to say the least. Hirschman may enroll in January and be here to compete.

My best case as this whole thing plays out, Hawk gets fired at the end of next year replaced by a guy who can actually coach. Hawk to his credit leaves us reasonably strong in the O and D line and at QB so the new coach doesn't enter a complete wasteland.

Oh, and Benson goes someplace else so we don't have to deal with him dragging the program down any longer.
