Turnaround Talkins will have his breakthrough next year.. Let me give you the reasons why I could believe this :

1. Tyler Hansen improvement. He will be the starter in the spring and will have a full offseason to prepare as the QB.. He will work with his receivers in the summer and will become a more consistent player at the position. We will see some magic from him next year at the position and will be the best QB we've had since Detmer.

2. Clemons along with a few of the younger receivers (Darden and Ussery)will step up and one will become a nice compliment to Scotty and Simas.

3. Young DL will be a year older. Players like West, Cunningham and Pericak will have another year in the weight room and should improve on the much better play later in the season. Also Kasa will be in the rotation and will provide more depth. Herrod will built on this year and continue to provide a consistent pass rush at the end spot.

4. The offensive line gets better by default. They can't get any worse and another year lifting weights and getting stronger will pay dividends on the field next year. OL was a little too young this year and not good enough yet to be consistent on the field.

5. Special teams. urrrrggggghhhhhh, okay I can't put a positive spin on this..

6. The team and the coaches (as much as we hate them now) have pride and will be motivated to clear the stench from this season.. Team will take the underdog role in offseason workouts and into the summer to prepare for this upcoming season.

7. So where are the wins you ask? CSU, Hawaii, K-State, Iowa State, Kansas, Nebraska, Baylor and Texas Tech. That's 6-2 in the Big 12.. :wow:

There's my case and no DBT didn't hack into my account and I'm not on Talkins payroll ..

You guys complaining about no positive posts (Chilly, DBT, etc) here you go. I put this together in about 10 minutes off the top of my head. Continue to add on if you like.

And for the rest of you, rip my case apart..

bold effort. commendable. all the words look good, same as it ever was with Hawkins.

other teams lift weights in the off-season, too.

I like the idea, but in my 6 win prediction the 3 "close" losses I think of are Kansas, Nebraska and Mizzou. They could go either way, but they are road games. Hopeless unless it can be proved on the field otherwise.

problem is that Hawk would have to win at least 2 road games next year to win 8 games... you see that happening?

I think we WILL beat Cal or UGA, but will drop stupid games like ISU or KSU next year. Hawk has shown the ability to get them up for a big game...The talent is there to win despite him...

You notably did not claim that the coaching will get any better, but I guess that's not much of a factor, so yeah, GO BUFFS!

That's the thought that immediately came to my mind.

That's why I had to put that disclaimer in my post.. :smile2:

How about this Turnaround Talkins nickname? Not to pat myself on my back but I think its a fitting nickname for the Pro-Hawkers.

Misspelling a man's name is never supportive....

I have only 3 words... Stop using Meth :smile2:

I agree with hansen and the dl. Our secondary but get better and with smith probably gone, olatoye and some others will struggle as freshman. OL? Until they get an attitude and are tired of getting pushed around, then we'll see.

I do not see 8 wins, I see 5. I also see dead people...

Jimmy you far flat out drunk or in ****in denial. I want to be wrong but sadly I know better.

truth is, we got to lose these stupid uniforms.

If they lost the little dots on the shoulders it wouldn't be so bad. I miss the triple-stripes on the arms. What would you want? Back to the 80s/90s look or the late 90s/00s look?

Ultimately what I'd like is to go back to the Barnett unis with the triple-stripes added. That'd update the old look (slanty "COLORADO" wordmark) without it being too much of a departure.

I like your optimistic attitude and I hope your spot on with your prediction and reasoning. But I'm not going to hold my breath hoping that it will happen.

Hawkins wins 8 games next year Bohn will give him an extension until 2020.

Show me, don't tell me, my recurring message to Hawk and any other Koolaid bibbers :smile2:

I think the staunchest of Hawkins supporters echo that statement. It's time.

5. Punting will be improved thru graduation. It has to be. Factor in that altitude and DiLallo is perhaps the worst punter in the country.

Jimmy, some good points about another year's seasonings. Those are good arguments in a vacuum. Which Big 12 North teams are degraded? I'm not sure Kansas can improve, or even stay the same, so that can be one win. But the others? I'm not sure I can argue that CU gets better while those others digress.

I'm not sure how the DL will react to a new coordinator.

I think Spercial Teams - if any squad - should receive your "How can it possibly get any worse?" award, though.

bump.

 Turnaround Talkins? I must have been hitting the eggnog a little early then. :smile2:

Anybody want to make a compelling case for 8 wins, I like to hear it now.

We lose to CSU, DH is fired, Cabral takes over and we win 8 games.

More upperclassmen starters than underclassmen starters this season...I believe it's the first time in three years so that should make a difference. Plus we don't have to worry about if Darrell Scott will finally have a 100-yd rushing game...egos like that being gone could be a positive.

This PAC move has got to have the campus and the football team on a positive trip right now. This is the kind of shot in the arm that the Buffs needed and ogt.

What you said on 12-12-09, minus Simas, probably Simmons and TH being the starter during the spring (they're neck and neck ya know). How did I do?

It's so nice to know that losing a 5* running back is actually going to improve things. It sure will be nice to not have to worry about whether our running back gets 100 yards.
