Re: '10 AL LB Nigel Terrell

He wants to go to college away from home, but Colorado is probably too far away for him. Named his Top 2 of Florida State and Ole Miss. Also in his Top 5 were Arkansas, Kentucky and West Virginia.

Re: '10 AL LB Nigel Terrell

In an announcement that surprised, well, no one... Nigel Terrell has given a verbal to Florida State.

Re: '10 AL LB Nigel Terrell (Committed to Florida State)

Now Terrell's saying that his commitment to FSU is soft as can be. CU is high on his list. Distance from home & cold weather are looking like they're issues, though.

Re: '10 AL LB Nigel Terrell (Committed to Florida State)

We don't need him. After super Dan wins out the rest of this season we are going to have a GRRRRRRREEEAAAAAT class

Re: '10 AL LB Nigel Terrell (Committed to Florida State)

Ole Miss is probably his #2 behind FSU. It sounds like we've passed Arkansas for #3 and will get a visit at least. My suspicion is that we're recruiting him the hardest.

Re: '10 AL LB Nigel Terrell (Committed to Florida State)

Nigel's now a soft commit to Florida State. Ambrose has convinced him to come to Boulder for a visit next weekend. Cross your fingers because this would be a HUGE get for the Buffs if we can flip him.

I just updated his ratings. He slipped 1 spot on Rivals, moved up 12 spots on Scout, and is now a top 10 OLB on ESPN.

Wow, that would be a huge get. Looks like we may have found another recruiter on staff.

Re: '10 AL LB Nigel Terrell (Committed to Florida State)

FSU just landed another stud LB in Jeff Luc. Maybe they don't have room for Terrell anymore

Re: '10 AL LB Nigel Terrell (Committed to Florida State)

Adam from rivals interviewed him. He will be visiting Boulder this weekend and then it sounds like a few visits to southern schools, including FSU (still favors), in January. At least the bitter cold should be gone by this weekend.

Re: '10 AL LB Nigel Terrell (Committed to Florida State)

His visit to CU seemed to go very well. He has canceled all other visits except for Florida State. Still a soft commit to FSU and the trip there will cinch it one way or the other. I'd love to have him in black & gold, but my suspicion is that if he gets along with the new defensive coaching staff at FSU (and they still want him) that he's going to be a Seminole. Cross your fingers, because he could be a very good player for the Buffs if he comes here.

Re: '10 AL LB Nigel Terrell (Soft Verbal to Florida State)

I believe he will be a Seminole.

Re: '10 AL LB Nigel Terrell (Soft Verbal to Florida State)

Take this for what it's worth, but I figured I should report it since it's a ray of hope.

A Rivals poster has reported that he has spoken to FSU people regarding Terrell. Supposedly, FSU hasn't been in contact with him for 2 months and they are hoping Terrell saves them from looking bad for jerking his schollie by changing his commitment to somewhere else. Allegedly, it's not that FSU doesn't like him as a player or as an athlete, it's that they view him as a bit of a project compared to how polished guys usually are when they arrive at Florida State.

Maybe we've got a shot after all.

We've got a guy who can work on that polish. Name is Brian. As in Cabral.

Exactly what I was thinking.

He's turned guys with less natural ability than Terrell into All Conference performers and NFL players.

Re: '10 AL LB Nigel Terrell (Soft Verbal to Florida State)

Seems like a Buff lock at the moment. We have a lot of LB's visiting. It's up to who ever commits first imo

Re: '10 AL LB Nigel Terrell (Soft Verbal to Florida State)

I do not see why we should not be signing four LBs this cycle. We only signed two in 2009 and while we signed four in the 2008 class, only one of those guys remains a LB heading into next season (Kotoa-gone; Mohler-graduation; Pericak-moved to DT).

Lowell Williams, Kyle Benson, Nigel Terrell, and Hemschoot (if offered) would be a nice group.

We need him. This kid has speed and we need as much speed as we can get. Hawk needs to stay on this guy.

I'd even go to 5 if Hemschoot was willing to greyshirt. Given his age (16), he may have an interest in doing so.

True. Regardless, we really need some depth there with Sipili and Beatty graduating after next year. Just not many bodies there.

Re: '10 AL LB Nigel Terrell (Soft Verbal to Florida State)

Also, our coverage teams have been pathetic at times over the past few years. Generally speaking LBs and DBs make up the core of your coverage teams. These guys could contribute early on specials in addition to being in position to contribute on D due to the thin depth chart at LB.

Re: '10 AL LB Nigel Terrell (Soft Verbal to Florida State)

Terrell will be visiting FSU in January and is still a soft verbal to the Seminoles. He has been in contact with the FSU staff recently as well.

Rivals has reported that CU has an in-home visit set up with Terrell this Saturday. Let's hope we can get him to switch to the Buffs and cancel his January 15th official to FSU.

I'm guessing FSU here now. It is much closer to home and the fact that their staff still wants him and is bringing him in on an OV will seal the deal imo. I'm hoping I'm wrong

I'm expecting him to stick with FSU. As much as I want Terrell for the Buffs, I'm not getting my hopes up.
