Just received in the mail. I assume all season ticket holders received it as well.

Quotable portions:

We recognize your passion and desire for excellence is displayed with your financial investment and is a strong statement of the meaningful role you would like to play when determining the success of our programs.

Quite frankly, both DD and I sent separate emails and never even received the canned Bohn response for either of them.

Our expectations are high and we continue to work hard to maintain our vision of being a premier athletic department.

huh?

Seating and parking contributions associated with football are not increasing for the 2010 season.

Smart decision there.

We are requesting that al of our Buff Club members match their 2009 giving and consider making an additional 10% philanthropic gift to the Student Athlete Excellence Fund.

Now that makes me feel guilty for my decision not to renew my season tickets. :sad1:

On a serious note, I will be sending a nice letter in their return envelope that does not consist of money at this time. It is all I can think of to do. Maybe someone will take note since emails have gone unanswered.

As for donations to the CU Foundation, I have not made a decision on that as of yet. I am currently ignoring those phone calls until I do make a decision.

As a season ticket holder, I havn't seen this letter yet.

So they recognize that the $$$ given to the AD is a "statement" of a meaningful role that we would like to play when determining the success of their programs.

Sounds to me like they may also be saying, You don't donate enough $$$ to have a say in all of this, so we'll make the decisions for you.

As for "Their Expectations" I see this as an attempt to gloss over what they have already failed to accomplish with the football program.

Seating & Parking contributions? WTF? Didn't realize my purchase of season football tickets and parking were now considerd to be in the form of a contribution.

Hmmmmmmm

They arent talking about the tickets they are talking about the mandatory donations for certain parking lots and seats.

Yeah I got mine and my call, told them I was still pissed about hawkins and to call me in January when i had cooled off.

Well it will be difficult but I will not be renewing this year, or donating until the zen master is gone.

Got my letter today, but no phone call. And since I don't use any of the parking lots, they will not be getting any donation.

absinth - Thanks for clearing that up as the letter did as well.

Just curious. For everyone who is telling CU they will not renew until Hawkins is gone.

What happens if he wins the Big12 North next year. Does your statement still stand?

No.

Just as I would hope that Hawk having another losing season in 2010 would mark the end of your support of him as head coach and remove any doubt the guy can get it done at CU.

Well, I can just put that letter in the bowl that the CU program is in at the moment, the toilet, or I can finally accept the fact that I'm a lousy fan, and most of the problems are due to me not falling in line with the University's concept of a successful program.

Didnt say I wouldn't re-up on my donations, I plan to; just wanted to squawk at them a little bit. I'll come round by signing day.

What happens if I find a bag loaded with $10 million in my back yard this weekend...

I won't be working next week, that's for sure.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

God damn you are the ****ing funniest mother ****er I have ever met. You should be a cocksucking comedian you are so god damned funny.

Douchebag.
Wow...can't take a joke, it seems. I love Oklahoma, believe me....

I didn't mean to direct this just at you. Just a curious question I have in general.

Too broad of a question imo, wins the big 12 north with a 6-6 record or something like that, I would still not renew and still want him gone but I would understand why some may change their mind (and why he would stay, cause trust me at 6-6 he ain't going nowhere) but if he pulls off a 8-4 record (even if we don't win the north) then donations, tickets, and my full support of the head coach are all back. Wins is a more important indicator than the big 12 north imo (that's how bad our division is now ), but in year 5 with all his recruits, all his promises, all his chances he better show his best season yet and too me even 7-5 will not be good enough.

A "NO" from me as well. And if the Buffs were to win the north in 2010, I'd be willing to bet $$$ that Talkins comes off with a "I told you so" attitude.

Rhetorical question ...right?
Wings will sprout from my ass and I will fly to the moon before Juicebox wins the Big12 North.

OK if you are willing to renew next year, assuming we meet your win/loss standard, then why are so many of us sending the message "fire Hawkins and I will return", rather that the real message which is, "win games and I will return."

You know the exact reason. No one outside of slim minority of the fanbase thinks he is going to turn it around next season.

Because they are addressing the one part of the "win games" equation that the administration has direct control over. Replace a coach who has consistently failed to win games.

That's a silly question. It's about showing a commitment to winning and putting a quality program on the field. If Hawk can pull a winning season out of his ass, fine. I have no faith whatsoever that he has the capacity to do so. So where does that leave us? The only way the administration can prove it has a commitment to winning is to replace Hawkins.

Besides the fact that the overwhelming feeling seems to be that we won't win with Hawk as HC, I think there's some instant gratification associated with firing the coach versus waiting for wins. Firing a coach can happen right now which could lure a lot of people back whereas waiting for the season to play out is a risky at best strategy for getting the donor base back - major backfire potential if the season begins poorly.

That's a very fair point, in my opinion.

I think Chilly asks a fair question, as well. Apologies to Sacky, your faith is not a requisite component in whether Hawkins can win or not, nor is mine. IF he does win the b12n, he has put his money where his mouth is.

Being as the Buffs largest obstacle to a great team is the fact that the best assistants will never come here owing to TABOR, what exactly will a coaching change accomplish?

I could give a flying crap if Husker Red comes and coaches, if he is winning - that is the target I seek.
