3 OL is good for this class and we have a couple de's, haven't heard hardly anything on DT's. I'm seeing guys like humphrey, epanesa sp? and cory hill out of texas. Anyone else?

I am a lone voice in the wilderness, but I like this kid because I've seen him play. I've also seen him on the sidelines at one of my nephew's games and Lex is HUGE wearing just street clothes.

Lexington Smith, Denver East. Buffnik says it's pretty remote chance that he's still in CU's sights, but he was the 2nd-top guy at the big man camp at CU this summer, just got his tapes out really late. Like they were mailed sometime after Christmas, apparently. I don't know if he's going to end up at DT, but that's one of the positions he played in high school.

Still, if everybody else is off the board, they might take another look. He's got the size and he moves pretty well.

Lexington Smith 2010
During his four years at East, he played Left Tackle, Left DE, Right Tackle, Right Guard, and Center.

Not a lot left on our board at DT.

Foi Foi is probably ours if he can get himself qualified academically.

Sealii has us in his top 3, but we might be on the outside looking in.

Humphrey may not be scheduled to visit based on a new Scout article.

Lex, as Alferd mentioned, is still there and he showed very well at the CU camp.

Other than that, we have to hope that Ambrose & Bandison can continue the strong effort in Louisiana this cycle and get Brandon Jackson off of Texas A&M or Harold Legania off of Minnesota.

After that, it's a mystery, hope and a prayer that the staff uncovered someone not in the databases that they're hiding until signing day.

That boggles the mind. The coaches must know that a good DL makes the rest of your defense better and takes pressure off your db's. It allows you to play more man and work in more blitzing schemes and have more freedom to do diffferent schemes with your LB's. I don't understand the coaches thinking in this area.

One thing to consider is that they may be thinking that Poston bulks up during his redshirt year and converts to DT. In that case, we may be considering another DE prospect this cycle. Frankly, not a lot there either but we may have the option of simply taking the best available defensive lineman that we can secure.

It's not uncommon at all for de's to bulk up and switch to DT, most play both positions anyway but still, the DT recruiting has simply got to get better than this. You can sit around waiting for people to fall in your lap or steal guys who have verballed elsewhere. Winning helps and there hasn't been any here so, you end up with a situation cu has. Problem is, I see CSU with a decent DT and teams like ISU,baylor and so on and wonder why cu has such a problem at this position with regards to recruiting.

Any updates on Foi qualifying?

How about moving Legania off of his Minnesota verbal? I was hoping Ambrose could work some magic.

So, csu just picked up their 2nd DT. They have two DT's both 3 star players, one is from texas and one from washington state. Meanwhile, cu has zero. Great work staff.

So who is the supposed silent commit? I've been following recruiting for a long time and this seems as likely as finding Sasquatch.

Got me, I've been all over the state of washington and haven't seen sasquatch. I did see a big hairy woman at costco's ......

Why don't we just offer those 2 CSewe DTs?

Yeah, CSU's guys had all kinds of crazy offers.....

Much like we've done in the past (Pericek for examnple) I suspect CU is looking for more athletic DT's who they can "Grow". Poston is at 240 before he meets Mr. Pittman. There's your DT.

I think they'd take another if they thought he had the ceiling. I know for sure they wanted Niwot's Tyler Strong but he wanted nothing to do with Boulde (or Lincoln or Fort Collins).

They don't need immediate help at this position as Bonsu and Pericek have 3 more years. The other 3 have 2 more years. Given their core players are SO and JR next year, I think they will sit on Poston and develop him and take a 2nd one if they feel the guy has a high ceiling.

I really do not get the spin on signing only two DL in this class. We should be taking at least one true DT every single year.
