I can't remember being this disinterested two weeks before LOI day.

Makes sense. So much is in flux and riding on this season that it's hard to worry too much about guys who aren't likely to contribute much in games for 2 or 3 years.

Nik has done a great job keeping my head at least a little in the game, but I'm pretty apathetic. In years past I've known the names and bios of probably 40 prospects by the end of January. I allowed my Scout subscription to lapse, and I'm pretty "meh" where recruiting is at this point. Just like my enthusiasm was down for a lot of the bowl games this year.

Our team's performance this year really hit me hard and rattled my entire college football world. Maybe it needed to be rattled so I could focus on more important things...like my pet peeves...

Im very interested. These guys are a big part of the future of the program, and many of them look to have big upside.

I think that the problem is that it is a lot easier to get excited about kids that are projected to be obvious game changers like DScott and Kasa than kids who have 'a good upside.' When you're after kids that are amoung the top 100 highschool players, you can't but be interested.

I feel like our bigger names we were after have already made decisions one way or another (Hirschman, Hinder, Mister Jones). Last year there was more suspense over guys like Byron Moore, Ed Nuckols and Josh Moten into February. I hope we are still going hard after guys who are wavering on their TT and KU decisions.

Kind of like with the professional drafts. NBA fans get excited about 1st round picks, especially lottery guys. Not so much 2nd rounders and undrafted free agents. NFL is all about the 1st day guys for most fans. For recruiting, even a casual Buff fan knew about Darrell Scott. Tony Jones likely ends up doing 10x as much in a Buff uniform, but there isn't going to be the same buzz at this stage in the process.

Top 100 players are nice and it is exciting to land them, but I tend to look a bit deeper. The three guys I really liked in last year's class were Bonsu, Ussery, and Handler. Saw a lot of potential in those three. I really hope I am wrong about this year's class, but I just do not see difference makers.

Not even with Hirschman?

There's no way to spin it. The class is bad and only reason it has upside is becuase it's so bad. It's bottom of the big 12. We're getting players with no other offers. I just don't see many playmakers other than maybe Munchie and T. Jones. Munchie may not end here and if he is a difference maker he cancels out Hirschman. T. Jones won't play for CU.

It must be very important for the little fellas to make their disinterest known. My teenage daughter sometimes has those kind of days.

This class has a number of guys who could be very good players for the Buffs down the line, and some right away. Can't wait to see them on the field.

I for one dont play into the 5,4,3 star bull**** are how many other schools have offered these kids......they have made a commitment to play for CU, and I get excited for just that fact that there could be a diamond in the rough here. So welcome to all these young men and cant wait to see ya in the B&G......GO BUFFS!!!!!!

Sacky's personal depression issues don't really belong in the recruiting forum do they? ;)

When I'm personally depressed about recruiting, yeah, they belong here. All I said is that I'm disinterested in recruiting this year as opposed to years past. I didn't disparge any particular recruit. I'm just not terribly interested in who we get at all.

Wrong. Losing a potential difference maker doesn't cancel another one out. Only bad coaching can do that. I'm hoping Hirschman has a great coach.
