I cannot wait to see the haul that Mike Leach will bring in. 4-5 star QB, 2-3 4 star receivers, it will be great to be a Buff and watch ESPNu this time next year.

I have a bad feeling we are going to be dealing with this same situation next year. Let's say that we win 6 games and go to a low end bowl game. I don't see Bohn firing him at this point. We lose the bowl game. Still don't see Bohn making a change.Bohn uses the "we are taking steps in the right direction" routine. With two years remaining on Hawks contract he will not be going anywhere. The recruiting class for '11 will suffer again because of the five straight losing seasons.Move ahead to the completion of the '11 season. We will be dealing with a lameduck coach with a zero percent chance of getting a contract renewal. Other school will use the lameduck coach against the buffs in recruiting. This will make the classes of '10, '11 and '12 way below average. This is how a team ends up like the old Iowa States and Baylor's of the world. This has been a pretty damn depressing day.

Next year at this time we will all be laughing at our ignorance because the Buffs will have gone 10 - 2... BOOK IT!!

We're going to have a new coach this time next year, and a similarly mediocre recruiting class.

Troy Calhoun in year, i'm hoping.

edit: indirectly hoping. i "hope" we win 7-8 games next year and i somehow forget some of the stuff on Hawk's radio show that made me want to chew off my fingers and swallow broken glass....and realize i was wrong all the time.

i also "hope" [insert Mick puts his index finger in the bum of any Scarlett Johanson/Megan Fox type hottie of your choice here]

Eric Bieniemy is your best bet if you want a good recruiting class. Last thing I want here in Colorado is another Texan, especially a has been from TT. At least with EB you know he can clean up on the recruiting, then he just gets to prove himself on the sidelines. If he can get a good staff though, then all he has to do is motivate and that is his strong point. Oh yeah, and all for cheaper than any other option we have too.

a texan is probably the one thing we need right now...and a has been? like him or not, he is a great coach.

Yeah, it would definitely make sense to disregard any Texas candidates for head coach. Sound strategy.

The notion that CU is too good for Mike Leach may very well be the stupidest, most delusional thing I have ever read on these boards.

I don't know why we are discussing something that has a 0% of happening, but CU would be extremely lucky to end up having Leach coach this team.

Especially in favor of the "all he'll have to do is motivate and let his assistants do all the actual coaching" model of head coach. Great, let's go get Bobby ****ing Bowden....

It's not that CU is too good for Leach. It's the fact that CU is not going to hire a coach with a history of negative interaction with university administrators. I agree that this has no chance of happening. I wish we could have a HC as good as Leach.

I do not understand why we would have no chance at a Mike Leach by next year. I understand the AD is dumbfounded when it comes to football which might make the job attractive to Leach who seems to want a lot of control. Second, regardless of the situation on the field Boulder is still Boulder and only Austin can make a case for a great place to be when it comes to the Big 12 Conference. Third and perhaps my most favorite, no one has had more success punking Nubraska over the last several years than the Mad Scientist.

You are ruining their fun up there. They like to spin what people say to make them feel better. Leach isnt happening. Get over it.

i wasn't trying to make you feel worse, or myself better. but the idea that having a coach with texas ties is the last thing we need right now is well, ****ing stoopid.

Leach would be the last person Benson & DiStiff would want to see coaching the Buffs. They would mix together like oil & water.
