Please take the time to explain the grade you give with a post. Should be very interesting.

D-

Really feel like the staff neglected the defensive side of the ball. Every level of the defense has holes that were not addressed, especially DT and CB.

I would give it a D+

Staring off the qb hirschman, bell, mobley and the 2 de's have some good potential but with the risks with grades, injuries and 'projects" along with the offers , it's hard to grade any hire. No DT's really drops the grade, especially with the news of bonsu.

D

C is average. This class doesn't rate that high.
F is failure. You can't say it's a complete failure at this point.

Therefore, it's a D. Below average, but not a total failure.

F.. The class is embarrassing low in big time prospects.. Its nice to have a few under the radar players or sleepers but not over 75% of the whole class.. Getting no one in the Top 10 of the state of Colorado drops this class. Only 2 Texans? Give me a break. Agree with Syko, absolutely no DT's is just an indictment on how bad the coaching staff is in building a quality program. And with people saying a lot of the players are questionable in terms of grades drops the grade to a F for me..

I gave it a C assuming everyone qualifies. Actually now that I think about it post voting I probably should have given it a D+ since this class is not close to average. If some of the questionable qualifiers don't get in I really don't see this class as being any better than an F or a D- at best. There's just too many guys that profile as special teams contributers and backups at best imo.

On the bright side, nowhere to go but up, there's no chance of disappointment only a chance to be pleasantly surprised. I think I've discovered the secret to Jimmy's happiness. :smile2:

Now, that's a good way to look at it.. I guess if anyone becomes a good player from this class, I then can be pleasantly surprised.. If everyone sucks, why its no big deal because I had low expectations to begin with :smile2:

The lowest rated class ever for CU according to the Gary on News 4. Also showed we finished 10 spots below CSU, they did sign like 28 versus our 21.

I give Hawkins an "A" for effort and some positive reinforcement... but the results are a D-.......

there seems to be a theme running here :)

I think this gets to the single biggest indictment of Hawkins - and paradoxically the biggest reason to feel some miniscule semblance of hope: For years (forever?) we've out-recruited the Lambs but still managed to get thoroughly mauled by them on the field last year.

Universally acknowledged athletic class + strong coaching = wins on the field, overachieving, a program with potential. This class I'd give a C and the potential for a big upside. We all know where the trouble lies...

A handful of players who can compete at the B12 level were signed. Hirchmann, Bell, Crabb, Tony Jones, Slavin and Poston. Most others are projects. Maybe they will surprise.

Hawk always recruited "around the edges". At Boise IMO they took guys who were Pac-10 a-listers with grade or injury problems and filled the class with the Pac-10 b listers. Like when Fresno St. was in it's heyday, that approcah works like a charm in the WAC.

IMO Hawk brought some of that approach to Boulder. The bright spot is that he has been able to land bona fide blue chippers (Scott, Kasa, Miller, Polk, Katoa, Major, MTM) and land some highly regarded kids (J. Smith, Jimmy Smith, Mohler, Jack Harris, Ussery, Darden, Deehan, Simas). There is considerable talent on the roster, but Hawk seems incapable of getting production.

This class lacks any bona fide blue chippers and it is arguable of there are highly regarded guys either. At best, I'd say C. Given the strength of the B12, you need b or B+ classes to compete, especially where the coaching is sub-par.

Rivals ranking: 66/141, last in B12; Scout ranking: 69/120, 10th in B12;

How is this not a disaster? I gave the class an optimistic D. I believe 3 star recruits have skills and can be coached up, but the problem of course is our coaches haven't proved they can do that. We're still on the downhill slope.

I give it a C, just for sheer hope & prayer that some of these guys turn out to be studs and Hawk can right the ship.....it's too depressing to try & accept reality

i gave it a big fat D.....way to many rb wouldnt had needed more than 1 if ds and sumler were kept here but ,that's what happen's when you have very little playing time...to many te we didnt need more than 2. i fell it was a waste when we could have got some dt's..and let the state's top player's get away is a reason for a d....i know you cant keep or get them all it happens everywhere, but no reason not to get atleast 1 top 10 player in your own state, to me that speaks volume that the kids in your own backyard think's your coach is a lame duck and has no future at that school......GO buffs

I gave it an incomplete. Until we see what the kids do on the field, it's hard to say if it was a successful effort or not. My suspicion is that we'll see 4-5 kids from this class who make an impact. The rest will provide depth, which is something we need. I will echo syko's remarks about the lack of DT recruiting. That's inexcusable.

--Lowest ranked class in the Big12, behind even Baylor and Iowa State.
--Just 2 kids from the state of CO
--No signees from any of the Top10 players in CO
--No DTs

Defensive recruiting was lackluster to say the least. With the article I just read, its not surprising. Unless some guys will be switching to DT and corner, we better not have anybody get hurt. That happens, we will have to pull a Patriots and have a guy wearing number #80 playing nickel back. Id be ok with that if we had Bill Belichick coaching our D. Not talking about Jefferson, just an example.

C

We filled some needs. Think we did get some underrated talent and some guys with good size. Would have liked to get more D-lineman and kept Jones, Spond and Munchie. But overall, I think it's a decent class all things considered. F-the team rankings.

C- No real guys that make me say WTF why and no real guys that have true superstar potential

D
No superstars.
Lots of kids without other offers.
The commit/decomit battle went the wrong way in almost every instance when things were up in the air.

But as others have said, who knows? It could turn out well.

C-

Better than most think it is, worse than it should have been.

Once you lose the ability to recruit the best instate talent, you are dead in the water. The successful programs are built with the best instate players. D

We get ZERO of the Top10 recruits in Colorado, and some of you want to call this class average or (2 of you) better than average?

Seriously?

I Gave it a C, I am hoping with this class we can stop hearing "We're young" as an excuse.

C. There's some good size and speed amongst the recruits, and if they all qualify there are several (T Jone, Hirshman, Uzo-Direbe, etc) who may be difference makers. Given Hawkins obvious lame duck status and the way things have gone on the field, I'm grateful to the young dudes that wanted to matriculate to Boulder.
