Red Turf?

These are the same guys the Buffs had to pull one out of their *** to beat back in '08, right?

I thought that the NCAA banned off colored turf a few years ago because of Boise's Smurf Turf.

I hate any kind of artificial turf, grass is part of the game - weather conditions are also part of the game. I hate domes too. Just don't be an idiot like the Capitol One Bowl this year.

I know you can't paint a div 1 field a color other than green, but can you make the stripes a color other than white?

This will surely give the Nubs ideas

The Nubs, (a.k.a. the Nebraska Cornhuskers) would experience a cold day in hell before their field would be allowed to be painted in Red. There would be a riot even if they changed the font for the players names on the back of the jerseys.

I heard the Lammies spent $1 million over 3 years to find out if they could paint the field their main school color.

Once their application was received by the NCAA it was revealed to them that it already was.

When I saw the thread Red Turf I figured there would be a full frontal assault on NU. It took till the 9th post before Nebraska was brought up. You guys are slipping. I agree with BuffSurveyor that it will be a cold day in h#ll before red turf is installed in Lincoln. This Nub here also thinks this is ridiculous. Just watching Boise with that blue field is enough to make ya sick. Don't know what a red one would do for ya, make you drink more?:drink:

Football fields are supposed to be green........................quit being gay and quit trying to be different. ****ing stupid

Yeah! I'm with the Iowan on this one! I lump red turf with other things that are bad. Like gay people. And trying to be different. Bad things, all the way around. Oh, and hippies too.

I just love how you read into everyone's posts.............

My apologies if what you wrote isn't what you meant. But pretty much, I didn't need to read into it, as it was right there on the surface. Except for the part about hippies. I did extrapolate there.

So what did you mean?

I didn't say gay in the term that you took it. I have nothing against gay people. I have two gay people in my family and love them to death and don't care what their choices are, I care about what makes them happy. I meant gay in a total different term, I don't feel I need to explain myself to you all the time. Apparently you like to jump on everyone's posts and you especially like to jump on my posts or others because we are Husker fans. Real mature IMO, I'll wait for your response because you always have to have the last word. It's like dealing with a menopausal women who is taking what you said one way and reading into everything just to start a fight.

Here's a little something that I took right off the ENTP personality portrait:

ENTPs love to argue and consider it a sport, sometimes hurting those who don't.

It's often a surprise to me when I'm engaging in debate to make a point and somebody takes it personally. You tend not to take it personally when I agree with you, I've noticed, which is weird to me. But this stuff isn't personal for me. Menopausal? Really BRI?

You may not have a problem with homosexuals, but when this topic becomes less emotional to you, consider taking a moment to consider your use of the term "gay". You said that you meant gay in a totally different way, but I'm pretty sure you didn't mean "happy". And that's my only point. If you use a term as a put down, think about its source. If you're so committed to making your gay family members happy, you might start by abandoning the term. Or maybe not, for all I know they don't mind if you use a term that refers to their lifestyle pejoratively--I don't know them personally.

At the end of the day, I don't really care what people say. But I am very interesting in challenging what they say. I don't understand why that needs to be considered a personal attack. I pulled my officers aside on deployment because I noticed their frequent use of the term "gay" and I explained why, in my opinion it was less than professional by an officer's standard to use the term. I didn't forbid them to use it, but simply challenged them to understand why they used it. Of course, I'm sure a lot of the language I use, and the things I do are considered less than professional by others. But back then, I was the boss.

As far as singling out huskers. In the football forum, absolutely. I will not concede a single point on which I disagree with a husker in that forum. Things that I will let slide with Buff fans don't get ignored when presented by husker fans. I don't think that's too unreasonable, this being Allbuffs and whatnot.

If you'll notice, however, my attacks aren't personal in the football forum. I simply debate those points on which I disagree. The obvious exception was the post I wrote heading into hate week, lampooning the husker regulars on this site. Several husker feelings were hurt, so I won't do that again. I was very surprised by the sensitivities displayed by some members of one fan base visiting another fan base's chat site.

In forums outside football, I think I'm pretty equal opportunity with whom I indulge a debate (or argument, depending on where you're sitting). Sometimes I let the gay thing slide (no pun intended) sometimes I don't. Why point it out to you this time? Maybe it's because a while back I remember you saying that huskerpedia seemed tame to you, because everybody on that site tended to agree with everybody else. I thought you were seeking disagreement, but maybe you only like it when others disagree, but become uncomfortable when they disagree with you.

Back to the ENTP personality page. Interestingly, police work ranks number one on the list for careers for ENTPs to avoid. I'm guessing you and I just aren't compatible on this site BRI. We come from different view points. Sorry to get you all riled up.

Oops, one more thing. I don't always have to have the last word, as you suggest. It's just that everytime you post something to me, it reminds me of something I want to say back to you. There's a difference.

I meant it more in the sense that you probably have an Uncle Pete.

Well I think it's okay to use the term if you're being literal too, no matter how misguided. It's just the negative use that bothers me.
