If you go to the official CU site, the top story is a video of the presser that Bohn held today to introduce Linda Lappe as our new Head Women's Basketball Coach.

Lappe starts speaking at about the 5 minute mark if you want to skip the introduction stuff and get to know our new coach. I thought it was interesting that she said they'd hit the recruiting trail hard this weekend. I guess that means that Whitney Houston won't be coming back and she needs to fill that spot.

Here's the transcript of quotes from the presser: http://www.cubuffs.com//pdf8/686430.pdf
All of you Hawk fans will love that Lappe emphasized the "little things". :wink2:

Also, if you are interested in tickets (for yourself, a niece, to donate, whatever), they are also running a $98 season ticket special for WBB to help celebrate the hiring.

I took that to mean she was tallking about the 2011 recruits. There are some pretty good Colorado girls in the 2011 class and the former staff was working hard on several of them from what I have heard. Linda now is starting from a position of having to play catch-up on that group and get busy quickly with any that might be of interest. Numerous 2011 WBB recruits from across the country have already verballed to various schools. I believe one of the big club viewing events is this coming weekend.

OK. Thanks. Have you heard anything on Whitney?

And I second valdez's question. How's the in-state talent next year?

How's the talent in Colorado overall?

Much better for girls than boys. I don't know the exact numbers but last year there were 30 something girls from Colorado that received Division 1 scholarship offers. Only 2 boys received DI offers.

And people wonder why Bzdelik is leaving. It is a shame that our women's program has not been more successful.
