New NCAA taunting and eye black rules.

The eye black thing, I really dont give a crap about. This new taunting thing is a bad idea imho. I guess its going to go into effect in 2011. If you taunt pre endzone not only will you get a 15 yard penalty, the touchdown is wiped out too. Personally I dont like it because there is too much gray area on what's taunting and what isnt so another judgement call for officials. I think the rule is fine as is but when you start taking points off the board because of judgement calls, it's only gonna stir up ****. What do you guys think?

Wipe out touchdowns? Nope, don't care for that one at all. A flag is OK, but taking points off the board for a completely subjective call?

Thats the new rule, it wipes out touchdowns. They showed some examples of what would be called and it was pathetic imo. God forbid guys actually having fun playing a game. As long as you arent showing someone up, I dont see it. Wiping touchdowns out is gonna cost people games and piss alot of people off.

Yep no more messages on the eye black. They were all poking fun of the NCAA for waiting for Tebow to leave before making that rule.

Sounds like a great way to generate enormous controversy. I can see this being used extremely questionable late in close games to benefit certain kinds of teams.

Yeah, so maybe it's not all bad. Imagine, the Big XII championship on the line, with one second remaining. The refs go back to review a play to determine if there was taunting or not. Texas wins.

last thing football needs is more "interpretation" by officials. pass interference is already a joke of the NFL variety. too much influence in games. 3rd and long? just send somebody deep to draw the PI. voila, the NFL.

wiping out TD's is dumb.

This will give those teams who stay off the peaks a decided advantage.

if they actually implement this rule it's gonna start a full fledged riot at some point and/or some official is going to end up getting seriously injured in SEC country. Horrible, horrible idea.

I believe it's 15 from the spot of the taunt lol and no td. Say it happens at the 5, someone scores, and a flag is thrown. It would be backed up to the 20 and take down the 6. Do they seriously think that is a good call to make in front of say 80,000 people? All Ive got to say is better them than me.

I believe it's already a done deal. Think the eye black is effective this year and the taunt rule doesnt start till 2011.

This is stupid. Are the afraid that the team that just got scored on might get hurt feelings?
What's next? Are they going to quit keeping score and give every player on both teams a participation trophy at the end of each game?

I wish the NCAA would quit pussifying football.

I wouldnt doubt it. Im waiting for it to go to 2 below touch and counting 5 elephants before you can rush. Hell, you cant light anybody up anymore without get flagged for it.

I wish all schools would quit pussifying males of all ages...everyone gets a medal, nobody gets their feelings hurt, everything is a tie. I have to re-program my kids each day.

Maybe all schools can have a crystal ball every year!

I'm assuming that's a euphemism for "physical abuse"?

sending kids to public schools is borderline child abuse

The TD taunt rule can do nothing but help CU. Toledo would have had two or three TD's called back. This is a great rule.

So, is the "toe drag" jog into the endzone considered "taunting?"

Honestly, though, I disagree with you guys. I'm sick of the gyrations and crap in the endzone. I'm more of the "act like you've been there before" type.

BTW, was BVP penalized for spiking the ball in our face?

The rule as I understand it is before you score. If it happens in the endzone, I think its just the 15 yard penalty. No Van Prick wasnt called for that.
