Iowa State sucker punched worse than CU

Tough blow for the Clones. I wonder if they'll let guys out of their LOIs. They signed a few good ones.

CUHills posted the other day that McClain was being considered for a HC position in the B12 that was not currently open. I wonder if ISU would consider McClain?

McDermott had to be on borrowed time at ISU, anyway. Pretty shrewd move on his part.

Creighton is a bellcow in that conference- facility, decent location (relative to the rest of the valley) and recent success, but I'm suprised he'd jump right back into the valley.

Serious nard kick for the clones, an Iowa boy goes awall.

He was on very thin ice at Iowa St and got a 10 year, $9 million deal. Almost had to jump. And he's had very good success in the Valley; three NCAA teams in 5 seasons at Northern Iowa. Creighton is the basketball program in Nebraska and plays in an 18,300 seat arena.

After it was all said and done, do we still feel like we got "sucker punched"?

I feel betrayed still, but we move on. I look forward to Boyle and what he can do with our [hopefully still] rising program. I also look forward to watching Bz get smashed all over the court by two of my most despised basketball teams in Duke and N.C.

As a Maryland fan as well, I will be going to the UMD-Wake game with a poster not booing the Wake team, but booing Bzz. Watch for it on ESPN

I can't believe that Creighton can pay their b-ball coach more than we can pay ours.

There is always hope with a new coach, and most of us have that with Boyle. However, I think the reality is that his price tag was one of the major considerations in making this hire. I believe we now have the lowest paid men's and women's bball coaches in the conference, by a fair bit. It speaks to our commitment to bball, as well as willingness to be competitive overall, imo.

It also speaks to the fact that the State of Colorado is horrible in funding education and that the University athletic department isn't quite self-sustaining like Texas and Oregon.

Eh, I'm pretty indifferent to the whole thing. We knew Bzz was looking for a way out, at least now we don't have to go through another off-season of wondering if he was gonna ditch us mid-summer for an NBA gig.

It will be interesting to see what his compensation is. My money's on Bohn for being the most frugal.
