Thinking about going but I'm not sure I can take being pissed on and being told it's raining anymore.

Sheesh...in typical CU fashion I try to RSVP for this "free" event and it takes me to the ticketing service on cubuffs.com and it is trying to charge me a $1.50 handling fee on $0.00

Unreal.

Colorado Springs&#32.jpg

I did call the number and it appears that if you use that there is no fee.

Bizarre... I'm sure CU doesn't mean to do crap like this, but the AD seems to be victim of it's own lack of foresight all too often....

Looks like the copier cut off the western half of their map of the state....

dude its a 3 day tour... relax... they will more than likely ear rape the western slope sometime later as well

The last thing I need is to go hear Hawkins spew some line of bullsh!t about working on the little things and how many rodeos he's been to.

Well, it says the will spend that week on the road for the 2010 coaches tour. Sounds like that's the whole thing.

I probably wouldn't subject myself to it even if they came here. It just bugs me when they say they're covering the state, when they never travel west of Vail....

When they pee in Vail, it'll get to GJ eventually.

"Colorado's famed resort areas" should mean Aspen, Telluride and Vail. Slummit County...really? Famous for what, crimes against dry wall?

I sent an email to the ticket office about the handling fee. This is what I got back:

Thank you for your email. We have taken that fee off as it should not have been there.

Hopefully you'll be able to join us for one of our stops!

I feel like I actually made a difference today...

Just got back from the Springs event. The format was pretty casual. Bohn led off with a State of the Union, then Hawk, Boyle, Lappe, and Kritza. After that you could go talk to whom ever you wanted to. I'd say there were about 50 people there.

Some of the things I came away with
-We already knew this but the 1990 retro jerseys are bad ass. The helmets are gold like back then as are the pants. Just a sick look.
-Very impressed with Tad Boyle. I really believe we got a good one. He has the pedigree and I was able to sit next to him and Bohn. He was very candid. He didn't make any outlandish predictions, but likes the squad (he's had a very limited amount of time with the team). The fact that he was able to convince Burks to stay put and land the transfer from Utah speak volumes to me.
-Linda Lappe is an impressive young lady. By reading the tea leaves they are making a hot and heavy push to get Swoops to Boulder. As Coach Boyle also mentioned, they have both been drinking out of the proverbial firehose. Meeting lot's of people, implementing their ways, etc.
-there is movement now on the new Bball/vball facility. All three coaches are very excited for it. As is Bohn.
-Not much to report on what Hawk had to say. He didn't say too much that we haven't heard. For me I recalled to old adage "I don't want to hear about the labor pains, just show me the baby".
-I asked about Mizzou to the Big 11 and the person I talked to said they (MU) are doing their best to burn every bridge in the B12. This person said that if Mizzou is offered they are gone. I couldn't get a direct answer on us to the Pac10, but from what I was reading between the lines, if they offer we are gone. The Big 11 will push the first domino and then it will get exciting.

that's my recap.

Thanks, HF.

I'm feeling good about the re-alignment reports I'm hearing lately.

Loving CU Hoops!

Oh, a couple more anecdotal tidbits.

-When the players first heard that they were going to be wearing 1990 vintage jersey they all though that they'd be wearing mesh style belly shirts.
-The bus they are driving around in is the rock star tour bus style. It's an alumnus/donor's bus. He bought the bus (black and gold luxury motor home is probably more accurate) prior to last season and was all geeked up about taking it to games only to find out that the only place he'd be able to park it was down by the law school where all the visitors typically tailgate. The bus sits at home on Saturday's. Absolutely gorgeous rig. I should have taken a picture.
