Would you guys like him as head coach if both he and Hawkins get fired this year?

No thank you, we don't need another guy who is driven by his ego to ignore the reality that surrounds him.

Maybe. I certainly would not mind him getting an interview at the very least. Any and all options should be on the table.

I think get into a messed up situation at Michigan. That teams identity does not match Rich Rod at all. I think he could do well in Boulder but he would really need a good DC.

3 years ago, hell yeah. now, not so much. RR's "turnaround" hasn't exactly been a flying success thus far.....and he's got some NCAA stink on him, too. I could live with one or the other (based in past success at WVU or prolly UM is doing the same stuff everyone else does)....but not both.

Toney Clemons would be stoked.

Possibly, he does share some of the same traits as Hawk, but he also shows he can coach the big and little things and I have never heard out of his mouth the word "pop"

:lol: I didn't think about that.

Yeah, he is not a guy that would necessarily thrill me, but it would show that Bohn is at least thinking outside his comfort zone. Several interviews with guys from all over the country to sort out the eventual hire is what I want most.

Positives:

Actually has an offensive identity that is successful;

Has won at the BCS level, big;

Can recruit

Negatives:

NCAA violation waiting to happen;

Not much on loyalty (OK neither is any other HC, but RR would jump pretty fast if he won at CU);

Pricey;

Cheerleaders? (allegedly);

Overall, I'd say CU could do better.

they guy does seem like a Big 12 type of coach as opposed to the Big 10. He will probably end up at Tech in a few years.

Rich Rod is Hawkins part deux. No thanks.

I think he will be very sucessful at his next stop. Maybe he will just be an OC but the man was a good coach before the whole situation between WVU and UM. That being said, he probably needs to go somewhere besides CU.

If we're going after a coach that might be fired this year I think I'd prefer Richt or Les Miles, but I just don't see us shelling out a ton of cash. I think next time around Bohn goes after a hot coordinator.

Is Les Miles on the hot seat? News to me.

Richt I could live with. Miles, I don't know, something about that guy bugs me, I'm just not sure what it is. Either way, I seriously doubt CU will pony up the dough to get somebody of that stature, IF Hawk is shooed away, CU will be looking at a mid-tier HC or coordinator, again....:doh:

I think anybody at LSU is on a perpetual hot seat. Those Cajuns are nuts.

I'd love it if we could get Les Miles here again.

This is why I asked the Rich Rod question. I don't think we will be able to draw any big names here. The kool-aid i was drinking around Thanksgiving has officially ran out. Rich Rod is a risk. A huge risk but I think that he will be a great coach again. The NCAA violations are for having grad assistants at player only practices. I don't see this in the same vein as U$C violations.

You can rest assured that if it occurred at CU the NCAA would see it as the same or worse.

Les Miles without the Louisiana recruiting base on lock down = scary (in a bad way).

Rank order of value from the coaching re-tread bargain bin

Mike Leach
RC Slocem
Mark Mangino
Bill Callahan
Rich Rodriguez
Charlie Weiss
Lou Holtz
Bobby Bowden

I'd take RR over Hawk any day of the week, but I'm not sure I'd take him over some of the other possibilities we will have after the season.

Dick Rod may be an asshole, but below Bill ****ing Callahan? You harsh.

If we end up hiring Mike Leach, that will suck.
