Nice research.

Too bad there's no CU alum at the Texas state house to run an opposition to this silliness.

And remember:

Governor: A&M
Lt. Gov/Senate President: ARIZONA
Speaker: Vanderbilt

Ultimately, those three have the power and none of them are BU guys -- or Baptist. Heck, the Speaker is Jewish. I just don't see how BU really mounts a legit challenge here.

Wonder if anyone's brought up the Texas Open Meetings Act to either the 15 or to the Gov/Lt. Gov/Speaker?

For that matter, does anyone have a Cliff's notes version that they can post here? I know nothing about it, and I'm pretty lazy. Seems pretty prohibitive, if these 15 aren't convening in a public forum to narrow down their plans....

Sure thing:
If this proves to be true, someone has some "explaining to do" because there would be a clear violation of the Texas Open Meetings Act (TOMA) which generally requires that deliberations concerning an issue within the jurisdiction of governmental body must take place in an open meeting after public notice.
Private discussions and e-mail exchanges occurring among a quorum of the members of a governmental body may violate TOMA if they involve deliberations about public business or issues that are within the jurisdiction of the governmental body.

Of course, 15 is not a quorum, so they can sit around the Baylor alumni center and whine all they want.

double post/double post

I'll give you a Baylor photo instead.
