CU men's basketball head coach Tad Boyle completed his 2010-11 coaching staff on Monday naming Rodney Billups as his Director of Basketball Operations.

Like this hire a lot. My parents' Nuggets tickets are right by the Billups & Rodney is very enthusiastic & seems to know everyone in Denver. Good, young kid who can relate to the players, brings some knowledge of the game & definitely will help increase the visibility of CU basketball in this state.

Might have a contact or two in terms of donations, too.... :smile2:

Where this is especially important is that there are supposedly some underclassmen in the Colorado prep ranks who are good enough to play in the Big 12 or Pac. Billups should help us with that.

Having anybody named Billups associated with your baskeball team in Colorado is a good thing. This is a great move. I'm more impressed every day by Tad Boyle. He really seems to understand what it's going to take to get CU's basketball program rolling.

agree. and heck, Rodney's DU team was a game away from the NCAA tournament. having won the Sun Belt reg season, they lost in the tournament championship to La-Lafayette or Monroe on LA's home court as I recall. no at large bids from the Sun Belt, so DU went to the NIT maybe.
