... how about this idea.

Notre Dame moves all non-revenue sports from the Big East to Big Ten. Football remains independent, for now, with an option to join in the future. To get to the mandatory 12 football schools, the Big Ten invites either Mizzou or Nebraska. The Big Ten craves ND. But it doesn't look like ND is ready to commit in the short time frame that the Big XII is demanding of NU and MU.

This scenario may limit the damage to the NCAA landscape, while still resolving a bunch of issues. For us, hopefully the Pac may just go ahead and invite CU and Utah.

The Big 10 wouldn't do that, no way. If ND's gonna join then they need to join as a full-fledged member.
