Husker Rivals: Big 10-bound

On a Big 12 fan board, NU fans were saying they were told this was a done deal last night. That link seems to confirm what they were saying last night.

I wish something concrete would happen. This totally reminds me of last fall with trying to get our coach fired.

Interesting how they seem to think that if ND turns down the Big10, that NU will be the only school invited.

Those f**kers think the world revolves around Nub football.

There has been talk of the Big 10 expanding in phases.

So the Big 10 will have 13 teams? or is there a third team (Rutgers, Pitt, ND) to give them a even number of teams?

What are the odds that the Big Ten does not change their name?

Well, for an allegedly insignificant, no longer relevant, academically inferior school, they are about to change the face College Football as we know it. Additionally they seem to hold the fate of a number of other schools in their hands as well.

This is as much about the academic opportunities as it is the athletic side.

We just get a kick out of showing Texas who the 10 inch C*ck really is. As a secondary fan of CU, since I've lived out here since 91, I think this will help CU just as much and probably help revive that program(barring the MWC scenario).

Texas needs to learn they only control their little sisters in State. They might claim all is OK like Kevin Bacon in Animal House but this move will cost them dearly.

The "NU first" thing makes sense. If the ND vote was close, and the Big 10 knows that the next generation of leadership is close to taking over, maybe the mindset now is "Well, NU has a national following and is a big name, so we add them to get to 12 and they have a shot to get to the conference title game in the Big 10 West. Then, in 4-5 years, when ND has the right leadership, we ask them, then take Mizzou, Cuse and Rutgers and get to 16."

I know we all hate NU, but if the Big 10 knows the Big 12 will survive without Mizzou, the plan has to be to take NU first, collapse the Big 12, allow the Pac to take the six teams and then grab Mizzou in a few years when they can bring in ND. They know Mizzou will come anytime.

Exactly. This has everything to do with blowing up the Big XII. I doubt the Huskers have been a top priority until it started coming out that they would be the ones to blow up the XII...then they seemed all that much more attractive.

Can't blame the Big Televen...I have been a proponent of the Pac having the balls to go secure the Nubs (even thought it doesn't make a lot of sense, but it the Big Televen was going to continue to drag their feet...) just to stick it to the Texass coalition and let them know they mean business and they will take who they want when they want.

I think NU is going to the Big 10/11, which would be 12 teams. IF ND goes, then MU is in too, making 14. IF that happens, Rutgers, Syracuse or some other Big East team (they are practically interchangeable aren't they?) would round out the 16 maybe now, or maybe in the future.

Thanks for proving my point, I expected no less from a cornhusker.

I love it, the Big 10 and all their money are maybe willing to invite NU to join (if the prettier girl turns them down first), and we are to believe that Nebraska is some great game changer simply because Tom Orborne utters "we accept".

Your arm must be sore from patting yourself on the back.

Wouldn't you rather show who has the 10 incher rather than be the ten inch c*ck?

Keep justifying your hatred for NU. I'm pretty sure the B10 doesn't just settle for the heck of it. If so, this would have happened a while ago. This is a great deal for ALL parties involved except Texas. Be happy.

It is a great deal, and I'll be happy if/when it happens...but I will hate you for all eternity...probably Baylor too after all their shenanigans this week.

To quote Meatloaf(sorta) I will love you til the end of time...now I'm praying for the end of time to hurry up and arrive. Now that we aren't Conference foes, you can become a fan.

It's not that bad. I didn't think I would become an average CU fan until I lived out her long enough.

Here's hoping we meet up in the Rose Bowl in 2012.

I really am going to miss the Big 8 games. No sarcasm.... It was one of the reasons I chose CU from Philadelphia.

Whoa now. Ease up there buddy. My two favorite teams are CU, and whoever is playing the fuskers. I don't care if we're not in the same conference. I hate you bastards, and I always will.
