Where would you rather go if the Big 12 disapears, and the PAC-10 and Big 10 pass us up?

I really won't care, to be honest. CU will be in some pee wee league somewhere and it really won't matter much because they will never be in a positon to play for all the marble ever again. Admittedly, they sure don't look like that will happen any time soon, but as long as they are in a real conference, there is always the possibility they get their act togetehr and become a top 20 team, or even a national player again. Go to the Mtn. Weenie, Wackity Wac or C-USA and being relevant ends for CU.

To my basement to cry. That will mean the end of big boy football at CU.

Yup, that would be the sad truth. I guess the Mountain Weenie Conference would be the best bet, but let's make it very clear that this option should without a doubt only be a LAST RESORT.

If that were to happen I think you would see a conference called the Big Mountain created and it would expand to include Colorado, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State and Boise State. It would be a BCS conference, revenue sharing would be in tiered in some form, and a championship game would take place in Denver.

and the television contract would suck and CU would be lucky to make $2 million a year...

See, I generally don´t spend too much time thinking what I´d do if the whole planet got blown up tomorrow, so I won´t waste any time with this, either.

While I have to admit that I have put some thought into what would happen if the chips don't fall where we want them to, I like your thinking.

Why do you think it would be a BCS conference? What makes you think the BCS will even still be relevant if the superconferences happen?

The BCS is a goner - as is the NCAA. The landscape of college sports is about to change - dramatically. There's a lot of folks who haven't done the calculus on this, and have failed to connect the dots. If the Pac goes to 16, then the B10 will also go to 16. If the B10 goes to 16, the SEC will go to 16, if the SEC goes to 16, then the remanants of the ACC/Big East will combine and go to 16. That leaves 64 schools in four conferences that will be responsible for upwards of 90% of all college sports revenues. The conference offices will dictate rules & policy, not the NCAA.

Yep. That's exactly what I was hinting at. The NCAA and the BCS would be powerless against those schools, except maybe in hoops.

REVIVE THE BIG 8!

Big 10 picks Nebraska which knocks the big 12, down to 11. They stand pat there. Missouri is screwed and has a target on them. CU doesn't like Texas any better than them, KSU, or KU right now. What do they do?

Simple, they recreate the Big 8 conference. Try to sweet talk OU/OSU back into the old agreement.

That's a solid six right there. From there I would attempt to circle the wagons and try to land BYU, Utah and TCU into a 8/9 team league centered around the lower midwest/rocky mountain area.

I'm throwing some ish and the wall and trying to make stuff stick but man, I could go for the old days right about now. KU/KSU deserve better than this. (Sorry ISU, you suck and nobody will miss you.)

Nobody is going to throw Texas out of a conference, even if they could. They bring too much $$ to the party.

Nobody has to throw Texas out of a conference. Texas sucks the life out of any conference it happens to be in and moves on to the next target.

I knew some aspiring film makers (okay, friends of a friend) who were really just some regular dudes with ambition but not a lot of resources.

Well, they were shooting their first movie. It was an unknown script by an unknown writer. There wasn't any known talent at any level of this project, except inexplicably they were able to convince Gary Busey to take on the lead role.

Gary Busey!

So they're shooting their little film and Gary is frequently tardy or absent and usually drunk. He's verbally abusive. he's well aware that he's the biggest thing on this movie. The guys were afraid to deal with the situation because...you know, they were unknown film makers and he was a well-known veteran actor.

But one day, they just said "**** it" and they fired the asshole. Apparently he was dumbfounded.

Now I don't think the guys ever went on to enjoy any real success in the industry (or maybe they did, I just don't know) but dammit! They ****ing fired Gary Busey because he was an asshole.

Something reminded me of that story.

^I agree^

To whoever started this poll, answer this with a simple "yes" or "no" answer:

Are you still running over kittens with your lawn mower?

I dont get the kittens thing, I was just getting tired of all the MWC talk, and truthfuly I would rather be independent than play all the crappy teams in the MWC

The answer to "are you still running over kittens with your lawnmower" is a loser either way. If you say "yes" then you run over kittens with your lawnmower. If you say "no" you used to run over kittens with your lawnmower, which isn't really good either.

It lacks a positive option.

Whats the problem with running over Kittens? Only the strong survive...
