Listening to the Chipper's show and boy, they sure sound despondent!

With the news out there that Nebraska will announce that they are going to the Big 10 on Friday, they see the destruction of UT's grand plan to dominate the B12 and start their own network is imminent.

Chip and the idot Adams said Dodds is meeting with the UT coaches today to let them know what is going ot happen, and that UT and aTm officials are meeting tomorrow to ensure they are "on the same page."

Thank you, Nebraska for putting Texas in their place and giving them the finger. Wish we'd had the foresight in 1994 to do it. Looking forward to seeing you in the Rose Bowl!

I can't say thanks until our bags are firmly packed for the Pac. If we're sitting in the MWC 6 months from now, we're going to look back & blame kNU for sending us into a state of oblivion.

Yeah, nebraska may have ****ed us, but I still find some satisfaction in the dismay they've caused Texas (who I never disliked until very recently). Dr. Tom says it's not personal, and maybe it's not entirely personal, but you've got to believe that it's at least a little personal.

Think that :01 left on the clock at the B12 Championship had anything to do with it?

Actually, on nebraska's laundry list of gripes about Texas that ranks about #14. They hate Texas up there. Inability to actually beat Texas probably ranks number one on the list, BTW.

I think it's shaping up nicely thanks to Nebraska. I just can't see Baylor in the PAC. It's just not going to happen.

The only concern I have is that CU will be without a conference rival. That stinks.

:yeahthat:

Can't say thank you until this whole thing plays out. One likely scenario is that we see even more of Texas if they join Pac16 and we're stuck in their division, dealing with them on annual basis. The "pods" idea is not a guarantee. Now, if the expansion goes to CU-UU only or Texas is placed in a different division/pod, then I will say "Thanks".

There's a (very small) part of me that respects Dr. Tom. I'll have to go kill that part of me later. But for now, I'll let it survive.

You win and you have a conference rival. McCarthy made NU our rival and won (and won big!) and a lot of NU fans consider us a rival, at least some do. We find our winning ways and someone will pick on us. Look at Stanford crushing USC last year or look at how Oregon St keeps taking them out of title contention.

Winners get the love (and hate). Losers don't get squat. Natural rival or not, I don't care.

I'm not the grammar police or nuthin' but that's bad.

If we go to the Pac with the 5 south teams being mentioned, I think our natural rival will be OU. I know people are gonna say ya, they are rivals with Texas not us, however when Mac declared NU a rival, NU was rivals with OU, not us.

We have a strong history with OU, and have even had more success historically against OU than we have against NU (yes I am aware they still own us). However we never went on any long droughts against OU like we have many times against NU. In fact we even owned them for a decade. We will likely be in the same division as OU, so it will likely be an annual affair with them just like in the Big 8 days. Also if Utah doesn't goes Pac, OU and OSU will be our only border schools.

I dont know what this means for us but I just hope for the best, geez this is getting nerve wracking.

All I've ever wanted from Nebraska is a cordial divorce.

Once NU's and CU's offers are extended and approved, I'm all for wearing this T-shirt and raising a glass to our future success in our new neighborhoods.

Those assholes did paint the "CU" into "OU" on the 3rd flatiron back then. It's on.

We need to make a decision on this soon. All of CSU nation is waiting for us to tell them who their new co-favorite team is going to be. We're talking literally dozens of people on pins and needles here...

And if I'm not mistaken we own longest win streak against OU of any school. As some journalist noted in the late 90's, "Colorado owns Gaylord Family Memorial Stadium and every other year they travel to Norman to collect rent".

Those were the days--though it should be noted that we walked away with a "W" last time we saw the Sooners on the field.

Also, it would be nice to enjoy a rivalry based on mutual respect with a school like Oklahoma than this trashy thing hate-driven thing that nebraska's been giving us.:smile2:

Contrary to popular belief, this had little to do with Texas(individually).

In order, this was inspired by the Academic/Research $, Boon to the AD from the BTN.

NU/Texas had more in common from a monetary standpoint. Both ate from the same trough on revenue sharing, etc...BIG problem was UT wanted its own network and NU wanted no part of that. NU wanted a League network.

The other **** with UT was more of an issue to fans than the Leadership.

It is good to be rid of them, no doubt, but this was not done solely to spite them. As Osborne said, we are looking 75-100 years down the road. With UT constantly looking at suitors, was the B12 gonna be viable for that long.

This is definitely a win for you guys as well.

Hey Asshole, you guys aren't exactly easy to get along with. You are ornery like a Buffalo. Someone will take to hating you right quickly:)

not true. UT had the most TV revenue in the league. you guys had less than Kansas. 4th at best behind UT, OU, KU and maybe ATM for 5th.

I'm pretty sure Osborne hates Texas and has resented them for a while. While I concur that this decision makes plain business sense for nebraska, and it would have been made in the absence of any animosity, I would wager that there's some personal satisfaction at Texas' expense as well.

agreed. and given the landscape evolving, it's a great move for NU. However, the "Triumph of the Vengeful Dr. Tom" angle being played up by NU fan is a bit silly. If Ozzy threw his banana peel into the dumpster instead of the trash can NU fans would interpret it as some kind of master strategy or World-Historical import.
