Texas should go Independent

It's obvious that UT will never be happy with the supposed lack of $$$ being part of any conference. I believe UT is really better off going independent because I believe this would be great for college football.

Just imagine UT players flashing the Hook 'Em sign in front of Touchdown Jesus and UT's huge HD videoboard showing the obvious about Norte Dame (that they suck).

They would be able to line up epic games against big time programs from anywhere in the country. They could have one game at JerryWorld and one game in Houston every season in addition to the home games they have.

It would be Texas versus the nation.

This is the viewpoint of a CU Buff fan who used to live in Texas.

If by "independent" you mean "**** themselves" I am in complete agreement....

OH, I thought you said Texas was Dependent. Which is redundant.

Love the orange.

It would be a mistake to go independent when most conferences are forming up like they are. I think this is one of the main arguments the B10 is using with ND. At least IMO.

Which is exactly why UT should do it. They're so full of themselves they probably think they can pull it off.

Then every game would be nonconference, and they'd actually have to schedule some BCS conference schools. Would make for some good football if they could pull it off. I say put up or shut up to them.

I thought they already were independent with their not sharing revenue schemes and 9 home games a year in the state of Texas. I dont care what they do as long as they are not in our conference.

The PAC let Texas know who was running the show when they offered Colorado ahead of everyone else to put an end to the baylor bull****. Texas will be another member of the conference or go elsewhere.

LOL at that guy in the orange t-shirt...would that be Carrot Top escaping from the mental ward?

I did this thread to point out that no matter what conference UT is in, they will never be happy...that is why they should go independent. Since ND has sucked so bad for quite sometime, college football needs a new independent villain and UT would be perfect for that.

I don't mind Texas becoming a junior member to us in the Pac X. We can use em for some extra recruits and a substantialy larger paycheck, while getting back to beating them on the field.
