This Big 12 Deal Seems Fishy..

where was this big money TV contract during the Big12 meetings... i mean this thing came out of nowhere... where was talk of this money before the big 12 disintegrated... and doesn't the big 12 have a contract with networks already... how does that work
 
I am reading on TexAgs that ESPN is pumping the Big X with money. They said something about not wanting Fox Sports to lock up the western part of the USA.

If this is the case, Fox Sports has money to burn on the Pac.
 
I personally think it's leverage for UT. I still think they would jump to the PAC if they were allowed to have their own network, which they aren't allowed to do currently. Their bluff = leverage.

I wonder how valuable that network of theirs will be when they don't have a conference to play in.
 
I've got a bad feeling that for all the joy and jubilaition we have for Larry Scott, he is one shrewd "playa." I think he's got soemthing up his sleeve that may still (unfortunately) bring Bevo to the Pac. Just so long as the dingleberries don't come too.

But if he does have something else up his sleeve, it'd be pretty sweet if brought OU, KU, and UU to go to 14. Screw MU - I hate those poseurs.

I was just thinking the same thing. Add in some collusion with the Big Ten to take MU, and the big Tex conf is DOA. Then UT and Baylor will be the orphaned beggars of CFB!
