Good read from the Post

Who is this guy, and what has he done with Dave Krieger. Somebody send out a search party, Krieger's been kidnapped and replaced by a doppelganger.

I haven't clicked yet, mostly because the Denver Post has proven time and again that CU is their punching bag. They are a Bronco paper and I am very reluctant to end my personal boycott.

Here's a modest proposal. I nominate Nik to be the official Allbuffs Denver Post screening agent.

If Nik says it's a good read, I'm more inclined to click the link. Might as well reward good behavior. Otherwise, screw 'em.

The comments below the article really show how much of dumbasses we have in this state, it always brings up the point of why to people here hate CU so much? It just doesnt make sense to me to bust down on the flagship university in the state, it really makes the whole state look bad.

I added a comment just now. I'm feeling that it's more important than ever to put the positive spin out there on CU.

Possibly the best article I've read in the DP on the expansion issue.

CU is down. CU will be back. Even with 4 straight bad seasons with what appears to have been a hiring mistake, we've still been to a bowl game in 8 out of 14 Big 12 seasons, won the North 4 times, won the conference once and finished with a top 10 ranking twice. CU has also had 3 national award winners during that time (Dick Butkus Award - Matt Russell, John Mackey Award - Daniel Graham, Ray Guy Award - Mark Mariscal), 2 recent runners up in Jordan Dizon (Butkus) and Mason Crosby (Groza), and two players inducted into the college football hall of fame (Bobby Anderson in 2006 and Alfred Williams in 2010).

I'm happy the Buffs are joining the PAC 12. I look for continued or even greater success there than we have enjoyed in the Big 12 and the Big 8 before it.

Good job, the people in this state really get to me with their anti-cu crap, and I think most of it is either csu fans or transplants (probably from people from other big 12 states that are bitter they can't watch their teams in folsom anymore). It really is disturbing and we would be better off with more local support. Go to Oklahoma or Nebraska and dog those schools and you will get torn apart!

One line of this article is false:

Playing in an egalitarian conference like the Pac-10 is more like the NFL. Everybody gets the same distributions. No preferential treatment.

This is NOT accurate, at this time, and a great many people are making the wrong assumptions about the Pac-10. They have an even more "unequal" distribution of TV money than the Big 12 did.

Hopefully it gets changed soon, but this isn't the same as joining the Big Ten.
