If Colorado Loses The 'Rocky Mountain Showdown'

Coach Juicebox should be fired on the spot and not let on the team bus.

I'm serious. csu is on a 9 game losing streak to teams like Wyoming, UNLV, New Mexico & SDSU.

No ****ing excuses. I'm so sick of Hawkins. Any time I see his picture I get super pissed off angry and
a violent rage burns inside.

Our O-line got manhandled physically by CSU last year. If our O-line coach continues to teach our lineman that it is best to play patty cake with the defenders and continually back up we will lose again.

The name Rocky Mountain Showdown cracks me up. They ought to rename it. Rocky Mountain Race of the Cripples, Rocky Mountain Mediocrity, Rocky Mountain Limpalong whatever, neither one of these two teams appear ready to do anything.

The Rocky Mountain Tardfight.

I don't see Bohn pulling the trigger on Hawkins after losing to CSU. I just don't. That's not his style. As much as we'd all love to see it, I just don't think that's the way it would go down.

True. I see MB more in this light when it comes to making a coaching change...de88cac99a754646..jpgHe's going to let it go all the way before pulling the trigger...

Therapy, dude. It's just not that important.

Well, what's the alternative? What does firing Hawkins after the CSU game accomplish? Next year is a throw away. Let's face it. We're going to suck next year regardless. So if keeping Hawkins through the year will save some money, do it. You're not going to be able to hire a new guy mid-season, and anybody you do hire is going to want to bring his own staff, so the guys that are left will be playing out the string. Recruiting is shot anyway. Recruits all know that Hawkins is a lame duck. Everybody knows he's gone. Nobody knows who is going to replace him. Until that part is figured out, recruiting is going to suffer.

We're in a crappy spot right now.

Wait. Let me clarify: yes, if CU loses to CSU Hawkins should be canned in situ. That is important.

The violent rage part is a little freaky.

CSU's entire O-line were seniors last year and had played a lot of games together. This years line is brand new. If we don't blow their line up it is gonna be sad. CSU is not that good, we are not that good.

Me, neither. The high hurdles that needs to be cleared are resolution to the B12 exit fees and the absense of an heir apparent who could carry the team in the interim.

Let's hope for the sanity of all of us that the Rocky Mountain Cripple Fight doesn't turn out to be yet another embarassment. That is one must win game.

It probably would not mean much, but if you canned DH early after a poor start, at least you might get some traction convincing recruits CU was serious about winning again. I know, it's not much but that's the best I can do. I suspect you are right, DH is here for the year and there is little to be done about it.

Mike Bohn is not going to be in a hurry to fire Hawkins now that he tried to once and wasn't allowed to.

True. Hey, Mr. Benson here is the paperwork to discharge DH...:eiertritt:. Ouch, I'll now go do my "i have faith in DH radio interview before the NU game".

If you fire Dan Hawkins, who's going to relay that message to the recruits? The assitants will all be updating their resumes and a lame duck interim coach isn't going to convince anyone. Mike Bohn isn't going on the recruiting trail, so like it or not, Dan is probably here all season regardless.

Tyler might start but Id bet my life that Cody will play and often.

I fully expect Dan to be looking for any and every reason to play Cody A LOT! It will be Cody's final year of playing football - ever. Cody will definitely see significant playing time. I sort of feel sorry for him.

I, unfortunately, agree very much with this. Tyler will get yanked for the tiniest mistake under the guise "Well we needed to change things up on offense." Dan knows he's done and part of me thinks he's going to allow Cody plenty of playing time to build on his career stats.

Poor Tyler.

Cody will see the field this year, as the place kick holder. He should only see the field as a QB in games were WE are blowing out the opponent. In the last four years I can't think of only one game that would qualify as a blow out victory, Miami of Ohio. Other than that, Cody wants to be a coach and should start getting some experience on the side line. It will be kind of like an intership for him. Dan should think about his son's long term carrer goals.

Any chance Bohn does to DH what Daniel Schnider did to Jim Zorn last year. Leave him as figure head but take away all of his decision making capabilities?

If he got canned after the first game i'd be pretty darn upset that it didn't happen in the off season, giving CU time to find a good replacement.....ugh.
