All right, now how about a list for our top games against the Pac schools.

This list is in no particular order, nevermind it is in order, by year. debate as you wish!

CU 14 Arizona 13 1985. This was one of Coach Macs biggest road wins early in his career.
CU 21 Oregon 17 1985. Ducks about to score winning TD with 9 ticks left and we sack Chris Miller.
CU 45 Washington 28 1989. The game after Sal passed away. Will never forget team pointing to sky in Huskey stadium.
CU 20 Washington 14 1990. Big win against the Pac champions and national champs the next year.
CU 21 Stanford 17 1990. Buffs had to rally to beat a decent Cardinal team led by "Touchdown" Tommy Vardell and Glynn Milburn.
CU 38 Oregon 6 1996. Buffs squash ducks in cold and rainy Cotton bowl.
CU 33 Washington 31 1996. Come from behind win in Holiday bowl.
CU 37 Washington St 19 1996. Buffs beat up on Ryan Leaf
CU 51 Oregon 43 1998. Shootout win in Aloha bowl
CU 31 UCLA 17 2002. The "tape" game. Tyler Brayton putting a tape across the lockeroom floor and telling the team, if you are a part of this cross this line, if you don't want to be, don't cross. Or something like that.

Although a loss, Mac's very first game was against Cal on a miserable, rainy day in Boulder. The very first game for CU's best coach ever probably deserves a spot somewhere on the list. Or not.

I was at the Stanford game in 90. they have a WR drop a sure TD pass in the south EZ that might have been the game-winner in the 4th. if he makes that catch, prolly no NC for the Buffs.

I remember after that 96 game Southward telling me what a punk ass Corey Dillon was. He had two early touchdowns and was running his mouth talking a bunch of ****. He said he was pretty quiet in the second half:lol:

Oh it was Dillon. I was thinking it was Napolean Kaufman, but you're right, Kaufman played a coupl eyears earlier.

For some reason I don't remember anything about the 1996 game vs Washington State.

The Holiday Bowl vs Washington was a nice win. Probably our last big bowl win.

Ryan Leaf came into the game all hyped up to being the next coming of Joe Montana and he didn't do much against us. Similar to when we played Illinois against Jeff George.

This is a great list.

Absolutely! The Buffs were coming off a 1-10 season the year before and this win was key in turning the program
around. Arizona was nationally ranked. The Buffs switched to a wishbone that year. This win put Colorado at 3-1 (the
Buffs started 5-1 and finished 7-5 that season)

I think 1985 was such a key year because it gave recruits hope that Mac really WAS turning the program around
and they wouldn't be playing for a loser at Colorado. It set the stage for the program's success in the late 80's.

This type of win is exactly what the program needs today once Hawk is gone. I thought the Oklahoma win in 2007
might be Hawk's turnaround game. Not to be.

CU 21 Oregon 17 1985. Ducks about to score winning TD with 9 ticks left and we sack Chris Miller.

Another great game. I bought a ticket the week of the game and was sitting next to the Oregon fans.
The goal line stand happened right in front of us in the open end of the horseshoe.

Some good games with Oregon - not sure if you mentioned the game where Ed Reinhardt was injured. That created a bond between
the 2 programs in the Mac years.

CU 45 Washington 28 1989. The game after Sal passed away. Will never forget team pointing to sky in Huskey stadium.
CU 20 Washington 14 1990. Big win against the Pac champions and national champs the next year.

The Buffs and Huskies have had some memorable games over the years. Seattle will be a good road trip (better than Manhatten or Ames!)

I remember that game. Joe Kapp was the coach for Cal as I remember and the Golden Bears started a 16 year old wide receiver.
