We may have found a real sleeper late in this class. Dakota Poole was a top rugby player in Canada who was on their U17 national team and then their U20 national team. He has also been playing football (he's 20 years old). That's all I can find on him. Any additional info would be great (and repworthy).

Scout is reporting that CU is hosting him this week and we may offer.

Here's some YouTube footage of Poole playing football:

If he hasn't started at a four-year university yet, he will have 5 years to play four, same as every freshman. If he's been enrolled somewhere, years would be deducted.
I'll go sleuth around and see if I can find anything else.

Reported that Simas would be here as a walk-on if he returns so the scholly has been pulled.

I like this pick up. A lot. Nice late addition to this class. Say what you will, but the late additions that this staff has added have been good players.

Scholarship.

5 years to play 4, even though he'll be 20 years old this fall. Word is the size is legit and he's one of the most physically ready freshmen we've recruited in the past 5 years under Hawkins.

I'll wait for something official before updating Poole's profile and the 2010 CU class threads, but it appears as if he has signed with the Buffs and will be on campus by the end of the month.

:gobuffs:

I like getting older players late. I know it's a different sport, but John Thompson used to find older guys that were great role players. I remember he paired Patrick Ewing with former army sergeant Ronnie Highsmith and former golden gloves boxer Perry McDonald on the frontcourt (not comparaing hawk to JT). Anyway, like the move. Welocome Mr. Poole.

You guys will love this kid. He is a great football player. I coached Dakota in his age 15 year and his 18 year. He is a hard working kid and he is solid. He has taken Rugby more seriously to this point but obviously now he is both feet into football only.

Welcome! Thanks for the information. I'm excited to see what Dakota can do. Sounds like a real athlete. Might take a couple years, but looking forward to seeing him on the field.

I'm sure you'll be following the buffs now. Hope you'll stick around here with our bunch of lunatic buff fans...

Thanks guys,

Def will stick around. Love this kid and can't wait to see him play. I have a few other guys around Div 1 football to watch too. Please don't hold it against me.
Haha

Eventually, I have a feeling right now. HOwever, so far those teams have been more premature than that dude with Shannon Elizabeth in his room in American pie.

I like the fact that he played Rugby. At least he will know how to wrap up tackle.
