Colorado coach Dan Hawkins is considering adding a player to the 2010 recruiting class who was recently kicked off the UCLA roster after a June arrest for felony theft.

Cool...the presence of Clark Evans could pay huge dividends...

Hawk should be scouring the bowels of any living thing to find guys to make this thing work.....his career is at stake.

Concur...beggars can't be choosers in our case, but just can't help but see the irony in the situation.

He was arrested for allegedly stealing a purse. I'm going to assume it was the purse of a fat woman. Fat women keep food in their purse. In this case the purse is a make-shift lunchpail. Legit.

The lead paragraph of the story:

Oh, and by the way, buried halfway down the article...

A CU source said Richardson would not be allowed to come to CU if a felony charge stands.

Jesus Christ. What the **** did CU ever do to the media?? What a load of ****ing horse****....

Seriously. That's very misleading. That bit about not being permitted to transfer should be in the lead paragraph.

I think this is as almost as good as done (with CU admissions and the screwups of this coaching staff I don't consider anything done until I see the kid on the field against an opponent.) They are saying that he will be coming unless he is convicted of a felony. I don't know the details of the case but from what I have heard the kid has no prior serious incidents with the law and is a pretty good kid. He was in the company of a couple of other kids and they did something stupid.

Unless he got violent with the victim, tells the judge to F*** off or there are a bunch of details we don't know about like priors, aggravating circumstances, etc. virtually no judge is going to hand down a ruling that will screw up a young kids life when he has the potential to go to college and stay out of the system. DA's know this and don't want to push the judges or cost their jurisdictions a bunch of money either so everybody looks for a way out of the situation. I am guessing that he will plead guilty to a misdemeanor with a deferred judgement and some community service. He does his community service and stays out of trouble for a period of time and the whole thing goes away.
