Ticket question from a Dawg fan....

I know CU single game tix go on sale Aug. 2nd. with the UGA game being packaged with Hawaii & K. St. in a 3 game package. There are a lot of Dawg fans on our message boards who didn't recieve tix thru UGA & are going to purchase the 3 pack for the game...

Question is.... a lot of UGA fans who purchase the 3 pack will be wanting to donate the unused Hawaii & K. St. tix to a local Boulder charity (we donated over 2500 tix to the Tempe boys & girl's club in '08).....

Do you have any good suggestions I can take back to the UGA boards as to where to make these donations???

Thanks in advance & I'm looking forward to visiting your beautiful Campus, City & State.......

Wow, with such a generous post like that I might feel a little bad when we kick ya'lls ass. lol j/k I no longer live out there so I cannot answer your question.

I'm sure we, here at allbuffs.com, could find a place for a few tickets.

Thanks guys for any suggestions... I'll link this post to the Scout & Rivals UGA site so folks can get ideas for their donations...

UGA fans sure seem like classy folk. I didn't make it to Athens, GA a few years back but from what I've heard the Dawg fans were a fun bunch and very gracious hosts. I sure hope CU fans can return the favor.

By far the best away game experience I have had. I would love to have more SEC games on our schedules in the future based purely on that experience.

i cant help on suggestions as i am in s. carolina but what a first class/great idea. good on you folks for doing something like this. very impressive! im sure several good suggestions will follow. have a safe trip. maybe i will see some of you on a flight out there. your return trip will probably be happier than mine.

they were. it was a great experience. well, till the last 46 seconds or so. :bang:

If they want to donate some to allbuffs, they'd go into the drawing for our regular tickets. We'd just draw out for whatever extra tickets we get.

I'm serious about this, BTW. We won't handle an extra 1,000 tickets, but I'd bet we could find homes for an extra 50 or so.

Classy, classy move by GA fans. I've just become a fan of the U of Georgia.

Best way to use the tickets is to donate them to the Ralphie Kid's Roundup. See link below -- ticket donations are tax deductible and the tickets are used by the university for local underprivileged kids.

Agreed...except for the last minute of the game I loved my experience in Athens - the UGA fans were awesome!! I hope all the Bulldog fans that go to Boulder have just as awesome experience at the foot of the Flatirons that I did when I went to Athens in '06...

That would be a great gesture by Georgia fans. It doesn't change the fact that we owe you guys big time for the 2006 game.

I'm sure they're really scared. "oooooohhhhh, Dan Hawkins is going to cinch it up against us! Maybe he'll bring his lunchpail. Oooooooohhhhhh!"

To answer the question:
I second the Ralphie's Kids suggestion.

Other charities that come to mind are:

The Children's Hospital Foundation. http://www.thechildrenshospital.org/give/in_kind.aspx
Give the gift of supporting families who are dealing with a sick child, or the heros who treat them. This web site has many other gift giving suggestions, too.

A personal favorite is the Aurora Youth League. http://www.theaurorayouthleague.org/index.php
The AYL is a not for profit pee-wee football and baseball program that introduces kids to the great sport of football. Aurora isn't nearly as well healed as Boulder. But it's close enough and big enough to absorb an allotment.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters: http://www.biglittlecolorado.org/home.html.
This is a mentoring program aimed at under privileged kids with a focus on keeping them in school and hopefully college bound. A ticket donation is a great way to get those kids on campus for the first time.

In closing, here is a gratuitous bleeding heart Colorado snowbunny shot for DBT and our SEC friends.

PS: Are we absolutely sure this isn't a BYU fan in disguise who who is shaming the Utah fans by being ubercool?

pretty cool. Wonder why the greatest fans on earth never thought of this? Afaik?
