The Colorado women's basketball team released its 20010-11 schedule on Monday, and it features a heavy dose of home games in the non-conference portion of the season.

I like that we've got 16 home games and that we're going to USC for its tourney.

Very winnable non-conference slate. We need to make the post-season this year.

I'm a little disappointed we won't see better teams. I wish they would go after the best for the Coors/Omni classic. The USC tourney is REALLY strong. Two of the three teams are coached by Ceal Barry assistants; San Diego State by Beth Burns, and Dayton by Jim Jabir.

There is no point to scheduling hard teams to run a new coach out before she gets settled. Its not like the program has been winning lately, the harder schedules will come with better teams.

According to the article in this morning's BDC, this schedule was basically in place before Coach Lappe was hired. That's probably why it has many of the same characteristics as last seasons cupcake-loaded schedule. The tournament at USC will have them playing pretty good teams and the timing is such that there wil be time to work on any thing brought out by those games before the Big 12 meat-grinder gets started.

If the family and friends turn out in force, CU could have a pretty decent cheering section at USC since four of the players are from the LA area.... Brittany Spears and Chelsea Dale as well as the incoming freshmen Wilson twins.
