Round two of our countdown to the top 50 most painful losses in college football history is up, and three more games involving current Big 12 teams have made the cut.

39. Kansas loses to Penn State in 1968 Orange Bowl, 15-14

Penn State coach Joe Paterno went for two points and the win after a late touchdown, but Kansas annulled an incomplete pass--by defending it with 12 men. The Nittany Lions punched in a win on the next play from just outside the end zone.

38. Iowa State loses to Missouri in 2004, 17-14

The Cyclones were denied a berth in the Big 12 title game by the Tigers, who capitalized on the Cyclones' walk-on kicker Bret Culberson missing a 24-yard field goal to win the game. An interception in the end zone sent Colorado to the Big 12 title game after Missouri opened the scoring in overtime with a 25-yard field goal.

32. No. 1 Nebraska loses to No. 2 Oklahoma in 1987, 17-7

One of roughly 27 games on the list billed as the "Game of the Century," No. 2 Oklahoma held the powerful Husker offense in check and earned a berth in the Orange Bowl, where it lost to Miami.

To go along with the next step of our list, Ivan Maisel writes: Not all losses are equal, the pain can take many forms. Special appearance by Texas coach Mack Brown.

And remember, let us know what your most painful loss was. What was your reaction? What was the fallout?

We'll be running the best e-mails on Friday in a mailbag.

62 - 36 better be #1.

Fifth down has to be in there, too. 20 years on and the entire state of Mizzery still has an inferiority complex over the injustice.

Headline should read "Sooners, Tigers bring the suck".
