Why all the Cody bashing?

I'm just sick of it. It really paints us message board posters as a bunch of idots. It really does. I know Tyler is our best option and that he will be the starter. But Cody is one helluva backup in my mind. The young man has sacrificed SO MUCH by coming here. It hasn't worked out and that really bums me out.

We are such a bunch of hypocrites. When his dad got the job and he committed, we were so pumped up. Everyone on this board was elated. Now, with things having gone south up to this point there seems to be no end to the Cody bashing. I'm embarrassed. I have nothing but respect for him and if Tyler goes down, I have a ton of faith that he will get it done. Remember, he came in against Okie State and marched us right down the field for a TD. I have NO DOUBT that he can get it done if need be.

Dude. It's the internet. Simmer down.

I'm sure Cody doesn't give a **** what some internet know it all's are saying about him and his dad.

What exactly did Cody sacrifice to come here? He's a smart kid. I doubt he was forced in any way to come to CU.

You won't see me bashing CH.
Glad to hear it, Daaah. I'd hope that, 10 years from now, Cody will be a huge CU booster. He has sacrificed a ton. He deserves a bunch of props from CU fans. But you have to admit, he has not gotten the respect he deserves.

Well, thats my point. He came here on his own but seems to be connected at the hip to his dad.

***Sigh****

This same **** is getting old DBT.

He's been treated really poorly by the fans. I cringe in embarrassment when I hear the boo-birds. It's so ****ing lame and sad.

What exactly did he "sacrifice"? Please. He's going to a great college, and playing college football. I think Cody is living a pretty good life. I doubt he needs you, or anyone else to stick up for him.

Just by this comment you are setting him up for more bashing. Reading the second part of you comment made me lol. I am not a Cody basher(on the web). I save that for gameday when he's on my tv. I have verbally unloaded on dude plenty of times in the privacy of my own living room. You should also look up the defintion of hypocrite. If you buy a new car you are excited right? If it's on the side of the road with flames coming from under the hood are you still excited? No. You did not get what you were expecting so your feelings change. It's not like we have been 8-4 or 10-2 and people are saying Cody sucks.

Booing is apart of the game. When he plays like crap, fans will always let him, or anyone else hear about it.

I guess you are right about that. I just think that he has gotten an undue share of the blame.

Cody is the biggest victim of his father's incompetence. I think most folks think that if his name was anything other than "Hawkins", he wouldn't be in the discussion for the starting job. But he is, and that's why people make the comments they make. it's unfortunate, but it's life.

Yeah. I think Dan warned him about that before he came to CU. Cody is a smart kid. I think he can handle it. ESPECIALLY when it comes from internet message boards.

It's life, but it's still wrong. Cody may have not been great, but we didn't have many other options. And he did lead teams that beat some ranked teams over the last 3 years.

Its life? OK. How often do you get ripped apart on the internet? :smile2:

Care to elaborate? He got to start here for 2-3 years. He wouldn't have gotten any time at all at a lot of other schools.

Maybe, maybe not. That isn't the point, though, is it? You guys rip him to shreds because he is his father's son.

**** dbt. do you really have nearly 20,000 posts?

Hey. Can you believe that ****. But look at Sacky. We've got no lives, I'll tell ya. I can vaguely remember my first time on this board. It was awkward. Here I was, a deep forty talking to all these twenty pluses. Now look at them. They are on the downward slide.

Good lord, where does that put you?

DBT, what triggered this?

Pretty much all I've been reading from people is that they like Cody, appreciate that he'll be a great mentor for Hansen and Hirschman, and are pretty glad to have him as a backup QB. It's just that almost no one wants him to start and Coach Hawkins brings some negativity his son's way by not naming Hansen the starter.

People bash Cody. They do.
