CU vs. Ohio State&#3.jpg

Here are the Buffs at Ohio State in 1971. We defeated a 6th ranked Ohio State team in Columbus 20-14. It would be nice to see the Buffs in shape for a repeat performance 40 years later in 2011.

It would be really nice! That'll probably be our road trip for next fall since my BiL is a Buckeye alum & it would be beautiful to be able to shut him up!

I've already started the trash talk with some family and friends back in Ohio. This will be a must do road trip.

Just need to get a FB into the offense and we're halfway there!

Yup. We had John Tarver and Bo Matthews running one-two at fullback. I looked up Tarver's stats and he had 122 attempts for 677 yards and a 5.5 yard average. He was not thrown for a loss all season! Charlie Davis was the tailback. He had 219 attempts for 1386 net yards and a 6.3 yard average! The starting offensive line had 2 sophomores, 2 juniors and 1 senior. There were a few senior backups on the line who played a lot, including Scott Mahoney, Kai Maiava's Dad. Freshmen were ineligible.

Just found out that we got tickets!!! :woot: Will be taking the whole family. How many other AllBuffers are making this trip?

great news. we also win at #8 LSU in 1971. and beat Penn State in Boulder in 1970.

yep, my dad was on the 70 team. We ended Penn States 23 game winning streak.

What is this about tickets? I still don't have tix for the Hawaii game, and I couldn't find any place to buy um.

I called the ticket office yesterday and put in money to reserve tickets for the Stanford game. It's not a guarantee of availability, but it puts you in the hopper for the CU visitor section. You could try that. Even if it doesn't work, it's not like Hawaii (or Stanford) sells out home games.

I'm not worried about getting tix all that much, but I am worried about getting decent tix for 3. I'm putting my dad up in a hotel and taking him to the game, and my bro is also coming. And since he is a UH grad, who knows where he wants to sit . I used to have semi-season tix while in high school there, I will see what my old friends say. I also don't want to be killed in the parking lot. Just another Haole from colorado is all I look like now
